Chapter 119
After spending half an hour upstairs with the baby, having a gossip and catching up, Cheryl and Gillian finally made their way back downstairs. They looked at each other with matching curious expressions as they immediately heard lots of shouting and cheers coming from the lounge, wondering what on earth was going on. Cheryl slowly peeped her head around the door, a beaming, wide smile taking over her whole face as she watched Holly and Tre having a fierce dance battle in front of the TV screen whilst everybody else was shouting and jumping around. Jake was standing totally transfixed by Tre whose feet were moving so incredibly fast that it almost didn't seem real. As soon as the little boy spotted Cheryl by the door, he ran over to her as she stood next to her sister who was holding a now much sleepier Aaron and took hold of her hand, grinning up at her. “See, I told you he was a proper dancer!” Cheryl bent down and whispered into Jake’s ear who nodded his head, extremely impressed with what Tre could do.
Finally the game ended and Tre began jumping around whooping, before shouting “SUCKER!!!” to Holly and tickling her as she laughed hysterically. “Like you were really gonna beat me!...I mean, come on!” he joked as the little girl put her hands on her hips, sticking her tongue out at him as he began laughing his head off. “Little Miss attitude...wonder who you get that from?!” he winked over at Cheryl who was giggling away at how well Tre and her niece were getting on.
“Oi! I hope that wasn't directed at me?!” she quickly answered back, raising her eyebrows at him as he continued chuckling, ignoring the little girl who was hitting his arm.
“Is that meant to be hurting me or something? ...not very strong are ya?” he mocked as Holly continued, finding it hilarious before gripping onto his muscular arm, trying to pull him down. She began screaming as he lifted his arm up with her still hanging on, lifting her in the air as if she weighed nothing.
“Wow! How do you do that?...am I not heavy?” she giggled as Tre moved his arm up and down with her hanging off of it.
“Well...unlike you, I've got big, strong muscles!” he grinned back at her as she smiled brightly, enjoying how he joked on with her.
Cheryl stood back, laughing with her sister at them as they watched Jake run up to Tre and hang off his other arm. The little boy began giggling uncontrollably as Tre pretended he was really heavy, lifting his arm high in the air slowly and then lowering him back down as he made groaning noises. “Jheeze...Jake, what have you been eating? You weigh a ton!” he joked, making the little boy laugh even more which was highly amusing to Joan and Sean who were watching in fits of giggles. Cheryl’s heart felt like it could literally burst as she watched him playing with her niece and nephew, seeing the beaming smile on his face as he laughed and joked along with them. She hadn't imagined for one second that bringing him back to meet her family could have gone so well, but watching him behaving as though he’d known them for years made the love she already had for him intensify tenfold. When he glanced over at her, meeting her dark, dazzling eyes, her dimples flashed from her cheeks, making him smile all the more as he watched how amazingly happy she looked.
Eventually, Tre lowered the two children back to the ground, panting as he pretended to be worn out and collapsed onto the sofa behind him before they both climbed on top of him, still laughing. “Haha...you are so funny Tre, I like you!...Can you come back with Aunty Cheryl next time as well?” Jake asked enthusiastically as he leaned up against Tre, squeezing his arm.
“Yeah, pretty please Tre!” Holly joined in, a cheesy grin on her face which made him chuckle as he had seen that very same expression on Cheryl so many times before when she wanted something.
“Well that’s up to your Aunty Cheryl isn't it, really?...You’ll have to ask her!” he smirked, looking over at her before she wandered over to join them, sitting on the sofa before giggling as her niece and nephew immediately turned to her and began asking for her to bring him back next time.
