Chapter 30
"CHERYL!!!...YOU HAVE 5 SECONDS TO GET YOUR BUT IN THIS CAR NOW! 5...4...3...2...!” Lily shouted through Cheryl’s front door the next morning as Cheryl came flying down her hallway, hopping as she put her shoes on each foot.
“Chill out will ya! I’m coming!” Cheryl shouted back in a flustered fashion, grabbing her keys off the little table by the door and locking it.
“I just can’t get my head around how you can be late for a photo shoot!...You don’t have to do your hair; you don’t have to do your makeup...no 5000 outfits to choose from! What the hell do you do on a morning?” Lily complained as they climbed into the back of the silver car, Cheryl waving sleepily to her security guy Steve who was driving.
“It’s 8am and I’m tired OK!...I can’t move fast when I’m tired!” she whined as Lily pouted, shaking her head.
“What time did you go to bed? This is quite a late start for you!” Lily asked, raising her eyebrows.
Cheryl paused, wondering whether to lie or not before remembering Lily’s Miss Marple skill at finding things out and so decided to come clean. “Erm...like around 4.30” she mumbled quietly.
“Well you had loads of sleep then, going to bed practically still in the afternoon you numpty!” Lily laughed as the car made its way onto the motorway, heading for the London studio.
“No!...4.30 in the morning!” Cheryl moaned, yet smiling slightly, remembering how great it had been.
Lily’s eyes widened as she spun around to face Cheryl, looking like she was about to explode. “You went to bed at 4.30am, knowing you had to leave the house at 8?!!!...Are you completely mental?! I give up sometimes Chez, I really do!” Lily put her head in her hands, despairing. “What were you doing then?...if I can’t already guess!” she rolled her eyes.
Cheryl giggled at how stressed Lily was, but was too happy to get into a bad mood with her which usually would have happened. “Skyping Tre” she grinned cheesily. “It’s not my fault!...it’s the time differences fault!” she poked her bottom lip out and then winked, trying to make her laugh.
Lily tried her best to maintain her seriousness, but eventually had to surrender as she saw how completely happy her best friend was beside her. Cheryl started laughing as she seen the edges of Lily’s mouth threatening to break into a smile. “Haha...I knew ya couldn't stay angry with me!” she burst out, grabbing Lily and kissing her on the cheek.
“Get off!!! You’re such a little nerd chez, honestly!” Lily chuckled, pushing Cheryl away from her. “Lisa is gonna have a great time trying to get rid of those humongous bags under your eyes!” she joked, sticking her tongue out.
“Hey *Duck* off! They’re not that bad!” Cheryl replied, quickly grabbing her compact mirror out of her bag to check.
“Was it good then?” Lily asked, smiling as they made their way through the centre of London.
Cheryl’s face immediately lit up which Lily noticed straight away, making her want to give Cheryl a massive hug. “It was brilliant! We literally just laughed for 6 and a half hours...I was in agony by the end! He’s so funny!” she smiled, sitting back in her seat as Lily watched, very amused at how soppy her friend was becoming.
“6 and a half hours!!! Jesus Chez! what the hell do you’s talk about for that long? I couldn't even talk to you for 6 and a half hours...especially in the middle of the night!” Lily laughed.
“I don’t even know Lils...just random crap really...haha!...Then we spent a good hour seeing what weird expressions we could make, I showed him my tongue thing, so personally I think I won!” she joked, smugly.
