Chapter 389
“Oh crumbs…Chez and Tre are stuck in traffic…this is where me and you Gaz get bollocked off management for not making her come with us last night” Lily had suddenly whined after receiving a text from Cheryl, pulling an unamused face at Gary as they sat with the others in the tour bus chilling out outside Sheffield arena.
“In that case we need to pack a bag and run for the hills Lils…you grab some clothes and I’ll grab some food…meet you outside in 2 minutes!” Gary joked, making her chuckle softly at him while she messaged Cheryl back to tell her to keep her informed of how far away they were.
“I think it’s mad how it’s you two who get the blame for everything that Cheryl does…haha…I mean she’s a grown woman, she can do what she wants, and you two can’t stop her can you?...you’re her assistant, not her babysitter” Marshall joined in as he sat across the sofa giving Brya a foot massage while she lay with a bright green face mask on, something that Gary kept finding very funny each time he looked over at her, having already made many Shrek and Grinch jokes that had kept him pretty entertained for the past half an hour at least.
“Haha…well yeah, you’d think…but they like to stress about something don’t they and they don’t dare have a go at her, so we’re the nearest thing…haha…it one of those weird situations where like they’re obviously Cheryl’s management and so have a boss type role I suppose, but they need her, so in a way she’s kind of the big boss still cos they’d be pretty screwed without her…haha…it would cost them more to have a go at her and p!ss her off than just having a go at me or Gary…” Lily explained whilst slapping Fefe’s leg as she leaned against him, due to the fact he was deliberately flicking her ear constantly to try and wind her up while he sat reading a book.
“I think it’s more the fact they don’t want to hear Cheryl’s annoying voice when she goes on one of her little rants for hours and hours to be honest…me and Lily just quietly nod and take it for an easy life…and then go and have our own little rant to each other about it all instead…haha” Gary smirked, thinking he’d probably do the same if he was in managements position when it came to Cheryl, as she was never the type of person to just let someone have a go at her without having a go back, and her ability of talking extremely loudly and extremely fast meant that quite often she’d win any dispute from just grinding the opposing side down.
“Hahaha…I think it’s crazy how your sister is like the sweetest person you could ever meet, but she literally has the strongest feisty side ever doesn’t she?...she’s like Jekyll and Hyde…haha” Fefe chipped in, making them all laugh as Gary vigorously nodded his head and gave him a high five, loving this way of describing his crazy sister.
“Hahaha…she’s not like Jekyll and Hyde!...haha…you big meanie…she’s always lovely…she just gets pushed too far sometimes…haha…I’m gonna tell her you said that!” Lily giggled and gave Fefe another playful slap for being cheeky about her best friend, making him stick his tongue out in return which she just scrunched her nose up at, finding him quite cute when he was in one of his mischievous moods; having already been woken up that morning by him dripping water onto her face, which had then resulted in a full scale water fight waking everybody else up too until Lily stubbed her toe on the stairs and fell about whining in agony for a good while, having to admit defeat and then made Fefe feel sorry for her.
Ooooo…I’m so scared of a 5 foot 3 inch girl!...what’s she gonna do?...I could probably stand on her if I lifted my knee all the way up…haha” Fefe sarcastically responded before rolling his eyebrows from side to side, playing the joker as always in order to hear Lily laugh or see her smile.
“Haha…don’t underestimate the Chezmeister…she’s like freakishly strong and literally cannot be destroyed….haha…she can have Tre screaming like a baby when he winds her up too much as well, and he’s a much bigger guy than you Felix…haha…anyway! How the hell do you know her exact height ya weirdo?” Lily asked with an accusing expression, finding it funny that he’d been so meticulous about it, making him snigger back at her with his eyes twinkling in the buses spotlights.
“Hahaha…we found this measuring chart on the wall in one of the arenas the other day that tells you what celebs you’re the same size as…Dublin I think it was…so we were measuring each other…haha…and to be fair, Tre’s a softy when it comes to Chez, he’ll just be pretending she’s stronger than him to be polite and gentlemanly” Fefe grinned as Lily simply rolled her eyes and stretched across for the can of coke she’d been drinking, before nestling herself under Fefe’s arm again to make herself comfortable.
“Have you heard what he did for her yesterday?” Brandee smiled across at them all after having been texting her husband back in LA and listening in on the conversation, thinking it was so sweet when she’d heard from Cheryl’s mother what the reason was behind the couple not joining them last night to travel to Sheffield on the tour bus.
“It’s so cute isn’t it?...she’d have literally died and gone to heaven yesterday, honestly…she loves things like that…Chez’s idea of the perfect night is watching a movie in bed with loads of sweets and chocolates rather than having an actual night out to a club or whatever…so having a whole day like that would have been paradise for her…she said he’d decorated all the room with roses and balloons and stuff as well…” Lily softly replied with her bottom lip stuck out adorably, having been able to sense just from Cheryl’s texts yesterday that she’d been having a lovely day with Tre, and that it would have meant a great deal to her. “…Why don’t you do things like Tre does?” Lily pouted at Fefe who pretended to simply continue reading his book, ignoring Gary who was sniggering away like a schoolboy in the background.
“Don’t worry beba…I’ll write you a Christmas card this year…that’ll give you something to look forward to hey?...Mwha…don’t say I don’t spoil you” Fefe jokingly told her with a serious expression on his face, giving her a kiss on the cheek before returning to his book while Lily remained unimpressed.
“Tre doesn’t half make us look bad sometimes doesn’t he bro?...haha…he’s always been like this as well…his ex could have opened up her own florists with the amount of flowers he’d always give her…he used to do it every Sunday morning for her and then grab breakfast for them at the same time to wake her up with…I used to live in the apartment downstairs from them, so I’d always meet him on the stairwell on a Sunday morning when I was getting back from my run and he’d always have a bunch of flowers under his arm, a crate of coffees in one hand, and then a bag of muffins or whatever in his other from Starbucks or somewhere…haha…I always had to just give him a slap around the head as I passed him…haha” Marshall told them all, having known Tre for a very long time now and so wasn’t actually surprised that he did all these romantic things for Cheryl, as he’d always liked to treat women like that, it was just part of who he was and how he’d been brought up.
“He’s definitely got the old school gentleman down to a fine freaking art…that’s for sure” Fefe breathed out and nodded, willing to let Tre keep his role as the most chivalrous one in the group as he was streets ahead of the others when it came to making romantic gestures.
“Bless him, he’s so lovely…was she nice his ex-girlfriend or not?...I can’t imagine him being with someone for so long who wasn’t…but at the same time, I don’t understand how any nice person could leave somebody who treat them so well…unless she banged her head or something, then I’d understand…haha” Lily asked curiously, taking the opportunity to find out more his past relationship seeing as though Tre and Cheryl weren’t around so she wouldn’t be making them feel uncomfortable or anything.
“Yeah, she’s dope…I still meet up with her every now and then whenever she’s in LA…I know she left him completely broken hearted and everything, but she’s not a bad person…she did it for the right reasons in the long run…they were just growing apart really and she could see that they were, they wanted different things in the end…I suppose that’s probably what often happens with couples who’ve always been together from a young age…everyone changes slightly as they grow up don’t they?…I think it just hurt him so much cos he hadn’t realised or felt that himself and so it was a big shock for him, but she wasn’t malicious or anything towards him and didn’t actually want to hurt him so bad…I think she hoped they’d stay good friends to be honest cos of them basically knowing each other their whole lives, but for a good year he just wouldn’t have anything to do with her whatsoever, like he’d go off it if anyone even mentioned her name…and then I think they met a few times last year at like parties from mutual friends and stuff and I think they were alright, like on speaking terms and everything…but yeah, they’ve never managed to get back to being good friends like they were before…” Marshall explained what he knew about the whole break up and how he’d always tried to stay liberal in the whole debacle, as he’d been good friends with both of them before they’d split and so had managed to stay friendly with both of them without there being any awkwardness.
“It was the way she went about it though bro that was wrong…there was like no lead up to it or anything, you can’t just tell somebody after 8 years or whatever of being together, and from being best friends since they were kids, that she didn’t want to be with him anymore and then literally pack her bags straight away and leave…Tre isn’t exactly an unreasonable bloke, she should have talked it through with him properly and heard him out…they would have been able to stay friends if she hadn’t just made him feel so worthless and that it was really is fault somehow when it actually wasn’t…she acted all the way up until that day like she still wanted the same things as him and wanted to start settling down properly, and then she suddenly tells him she wants the complete opposite…she basically gave him an ultimatum on the spot didn’t she?…but Tre’s way better off with Cheryl anyway, so I guess it all worked out right in the end…she’s a much better match for him and I think he’s probably the kind of guy she needs to be with after her past one too” Tyrell had suddenly joined in with the conversation after having been simply listening to some music in the corner, chilling out before the sound check and run through they needed to do if Cheryl ever arrived; he’d always been more on Tre’s side due to being his closest friend and had really been the one who had eventually managed to get Tre back together again afterwards, having probably seen the consequences more than Marshall had done and so couldn’t be quite so lenient on Milana’s method of ending the relationship.
“I suppose no break up is easy to be fair, so whatever way it had happened it probably still would have been bad wouldn’t it?…especially if it’s a long term relationship…poor Trezzle though…I can’t imagine him being all depressed and stuff when he’s always so happy these days, he’s like the Cheshire cat!…he’s definitely perfectly suited to Chez though, so thank God he was single when you went to shoot the video…he’s made my life a hell of lot more stress free since they got together…haha” Lily giggled, thankful for the fact Tre had popped up this year and completely restored Cheryl back to her good old self again, meaning that Lily hadn’t really had to deal with any big dramas this year and barely any grumpy moods from her friend/boss for a change.
“Yeah, as much as I enjoy taking the p!ss out of them, and as much as they do me sodden head in with all their kissing and cuddling constantly, I am happy they’re together…I don’t feel like I constantly have to keep an eye on what he’s up to…he treats her well for a change…don’t tell either of them that I said that though…haha” Gary sweetly added, thinking back to how unsure he’d been at the very beginning when Cheryl had told him about Tre taking her out on a first date, and was just relieved that he hadn’t made more of a fuss as he really hadn’t had anything to worry about; Gary couldn’t deny the fact that Tre definitely treat his sister a million times better than any of her past boyfriends had ever done over the years.
“Aww…doesn’t everyone love when Gary shows his soft, emotional side…it instantly makes my eyes tear up” Lily joked, making them all laugh before she held her hands in front of her face as he began tossing cushions at her, smirking as he did so. “Hahaha…alright alright, I’m sorry…haha…come on, let’s go and check everything’s going to plan in there so that at least management can’t shout at us for sitting around while we wait for her ladyship to arrive” Lily laughed and made a good excuse for him to leave her alone as she turned her head to give Fefe a kiss and then pulled Gary up to go into the arena, giggling even more when he grabbed the little pink motorbike and began riding across the car park in it, not even realising how hilarious he looked on it.
