Chapter 267
Cheryl’s house was in complete silence the next morning except for the quiet ticking of the clock in the hallway downstairs. It was still early and the two Chihuahuas were sleeping peacefully in their cosy basket in Cheryl’s warm lounge, snuggled up together like the best of friends, while Gary lay snoring contently in his own bed upstairs, splayed out like a starfish and taking up the whole bed whilst being dead to the world still. The dark landing from Gary’s bedroom door crossed the house and weaved around to another double set of white, wooden doors which if opened, revealed Cheryl’s dark, tranquil room with the only light dimly glowing from behind the cream curtains as the sun had risen up for the new day. If only taking a sweeping glance, the room appeared to be completely empty, but if looking slightly more so, a singular mound lay under the fluffy white duvet as Cheryl and Tre’s bodies had stayed snuggled up together all night long, making them seem like one. The duvet had stopped just at the top of Cheryl’s bum and so left her back bare, however she wasn’t cold in the slightest as Tre had his protective, muscular arms wrapped around her and his warm body that she was lying against was all the heat and comfort she needed, confining her inside her blissful dreamland.
It seemed like some cruel joke when Cheryl’s phone suddenly began ringing loudly on the bedside table, waking the couple up instantly as they groaned, not quite believing that on their first morning of being able to sleep in, that they’d still been woken up by a horrible, loud sound. “Oh Chez...just turn it off will you?” Tre grumbled as he put his hand over his eyes, just wanting to sleep as the ringtone continued, making Cheryl slowly lift her head up which had been nestled into Tre’s neck and then pushed herself up from his chest.
“Sorry...” she moaned as she rolled away from him to grab it, frowning as she realised it was only 7.30 and that it was her sister’s face flashing up on the screen. “This better be good or she’s dead!” Cheryl whined as she got herself ready to complain to the high heavens, while Tre just groaned loudly and rolled over the other way to go back to sleep, pulling the duvet up to his neck as he did so.
“Hello...” Cheryl finally answered it, thinking she’d better start off nice in case it was something about the family and she had a genuine excuse to ring her on her morning off.
“Aunty Cheryl!!!...haha...it’s me!” she suddenly heard Holly’s voice boom down the phone, nearly deafening her in the process, but she still couldn’t help but smile at just hearing her sweet little voice after missing them so much.
“Haha...hi baby! Are you ok? Where’s your mam?” she asked as she lay back down against her pillow and rubbed her eyes to wake up more.
“Haha...she’s still asleep but she left her phone downstairs so I stole it...haha...I miss you, I wanted to say hello...” the little girl adorably replied as Cheryl pouted cutely, just wanting to give her niece a big cuddle as she felt exactly the same.
“I miss you too sweetheart...loads and loads and loads and loads...” she kept going on as she heard Holly start to giggle away on the other end of the phone.
“Haha...you’re so funny Aunty Cheryl...haha...when can I come and see you again? I had the best time ever!” Holly chuckled happily.
“I wish it could be soon babe, but I’m going to America tomorrow...I need to learn all my dances so that I can show you when I come back!...I can’t wait for you to come and see my show, I bet you can’t remember when you came to see me with Girls Aloud can you? You were only a baby really!” she smirked as Tre rolled onto his front and buried his face into the pillow, obviously just wanting to go back to sleep while she chatted away.
“I can a little bit!...you had a gold sparkly dress on at the beginning and I thought you looked like a real princess!...haha...I’m gonna ask me mam to paint me nails real glittery when I come to see you so that you might see me when you’re on stage, cos me dad says they’ll be lots and lots of people there!” Holly excitedly told her aunt whose dimples were literally glowing on her face as she scrunched her nose up.
