"Gazzy! Go wash your face! Angel! Stop jumping on the couch! Iggy! Don't think I can't see you trying to sneak away to go blow something up! Dinner is ready!"
"You didn't make it, right, Isabel?" Iggy questioned, coming back down the hall.
"No, Fang did," she huffed.
"Good, otherwise we'd all be fighting for the bathroom later," he stated, ruffling her hair while walking past.
"Hey! My cooking's not that bad!"
He cocked a brow. "The last time Fang couldn't look at food for almost a week without reeling."
"Whatever," she muttered, following him into the room.
The table was crowded and loud as usual, hands reaching for the placed-out food in the center of the table. "This is great, Fang!" Gazzy exclaimed, chowing down on a chicken wing. He nodded in response, everyone filling their stomach till they couldn't fit anymore.
"Man, I ate too much," Max mumbled, patting her belly in content.
"Isabel's turn to do dishes!" Angel exclaimed with a giggle.
"What? No way!" the teen answered.
"Yes, it is!"
"It's Thursday!" Gazzy chimed in.
Grumbling, the girl cleaned up all the dirty dishes before retreating to the sink. Everyone else peeled off to do their own thing, leaving her alone. "Hey, Isabel! When you're done, do you wanna kick the soccer ball around with Nudge and me?" Gazzy asked.
"Sure, I'll just be a few more minutes."
The air was crisp, sun setting in the distance when Isabel stepped outside. The ball came soaring through the air in her direction, bumping the object off the forehead before kicking it back. This went on for a while, the three of them laughing and joking about. "Come on, Isabel! Is that the best you've got?"
"You asked for it, Gasman!"
The force behind the kick sent the soccer ball shooting through the air, the boy ducking as it passed overhead. "Wow! That's your hardest kick yet!" Nudge exclaimed clapping her hands.
"Ack!" Gazzy exclaimed, drawing their attention. "You got Iggy!"
The teen lay sprawled out on the ground, blinking his eyes to try and figure out what hit him. "Oh my gosh!" Isabel exclaimed, darting forward. "Iggy! Are you alright?"
"What was that?"
"Isabel kicked a soccer ball at your head," Gazzy pointed out.
"Not on purpose! You asked me to kick it hard!"
"I'll go get some ice!"
"Your nose is bleeding! Nudge! Get some tissues too!"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
"I am so sorry," Isabel groaned, hanging her head while holding the icepack to Iggy's head.
"I keep telling you I'm okay," he answered, pushing a tissue against his nose. "How does it look?"
"It stopped. Here." Handing him a wet towel, the boy cleaned away any lingering blood. "I didn't even know you had come outside."
"I was going to ask the Gasman where he hid the wires we collected, but the next thing I knew something slammed into my face and I was on the ground."
"That is so embarrassing, hitting a blind guy."
"Well, I couldn't exactly see it coming," he chuckled.
"That is what makes this whole situation worse..."
"Don't worry about it, I'm not complaining."
"Well, you're weird."
"Coming from the abnormally strong human who can punch, kick like a superhuman, and sometimes act like a guy."
"Shut up," she grumbled, shoving him lightly.
Iggy smirked, taking away the ice pack. "If you're that upset about it, I know a way you can pay me back."
"That would make me feel a little bit better... unless you're going to make me clean you're room after accidentally setting off an explosion."
He laughed, hand reaching up to touch the cheek. "No, though that is tempting."
"Okay then, shoot."
It was swift, his cool lips pressing against hers. "Much better than what I originally came out here for." Isabel blinked in surprise, not knowing what to say. "Your cheeks are a nice color."
The comment snapped her out of the shock, stuttering out, "Shut up."
Iggy laughed, thumb brushing the skin. "I like you, Isabel, a lot. Even if you can hit me with a soccer ball."
"Hey! I said it was an accident!"
"If you keep letting this be my reward, then I'm not complaining." Isabel rolled her eyes before kissing the teen again.
