Recap!
Hugo widened his eyes, hoping that this was all a nightmare he created, and that he would wake up. But sadly, this wasn't a nightmare. One of his best friends is now a mindless bloodlust machine.
Vegas pointed the gun at Phoenix, about to shoot him at the forehead. Out of a fast reflex, Hugo pushed her arm down with the gun.
"Are you crazy?!" Vegas shouted.
"He's my friend! There has to be a cure to bring him back!" Hugo overreacted.
"I doubt there is a cure!" Vegas shouted back.
Then Alue jumped in the situation, pinning Phoenix to the ground, trying to put a iron muzzle on him. "I could use a little help here instead of two just observing!"
Hugo's eye somewhat brightened and quickly put more pressure on Phoenix, pinning him further in the ground. Alue then cuffed Phoenix, checking if that could hold on. She then stabbed five tranquilizers and focused her attention on Hugo and Vegas..."What are you two doing here...?" Alue eyed at them with suspicion. But she didn't point her weapon at them or disrespected them. Although, she won't deny, she wanted to threaten them. But, she knew better.
Vegas glanced at Hugo, hoping he would say something.
Hugo walked towards Alue, but kept his distance. "I know that I'm not the best person. If you can call me a person. What Astoroth told me, infuriated me. I am no longer allies with Astoroth."
Alue narrowed her gaze at Hugo and Vegas. 'Did I hear that correctly...?' Alue pondered, thinking if she should believe them.
"And," Vegas cleared her throat to not sound shaky. "We were thinking if we can join being allies with you."
Alue stared at them, trying to process the offer. Alue approached them and put her hands on their foreheads, making the memory connection. She then abruptly took her hands away from them. She couldn't believe what she saw about the plan of the chemical. But at the same time, She also saw that Hugo and Vegas were one hundred percent honest. But that didn't mean she completely trusts them yet.
"Alright," Alue hesitated. "You will join in being my allies."
Hugo and Vegas sighed in relief.
"But," Alue gave them a warning look, glaring at them. "First; I don't know if my allies will accept you and vice versa. Second; I don't know how your members will react. I suggest you to give them the news before becoming allies with me."
Hugo nodded. "Ok...good idea. Question; are you hunting-?"
"The infected? Yes. I would like to analyze them." Alue interrupted. "If you two strongly feel becoming allies with me, I could use a little help along with two hunters. Guys!" She gestured the two hunters to come out.
Jumping from the building, there landed the two hunters. Both wore a midnight blue jacket, pants, boots and shirt. And they both wore a black mask, covering half of their faces.
"Hello," The man with brown hair emotionlessly greeted. "My name is Sasha. And she," Sasha pointed at the blonde woman next to him.
"I am Kiana, Sasha's sister. Nice to meet you...people." Kiana gave Hugo and Vegas a nod.
"Nice meeting you, too." Vegas nodded back.
"Alright, Sasha? Kiana?" Alue made eye contact with them and vice versa. "Can you take the body back to the base while Hugo and Vegas help me capture other Blooders?" Alue asked.
"Sure thing." Sasha nodded and picked up Phoenix and ran back to the base.
"Let's go." Alue ran up the wall of the nearest building and leaped from building to building. The others followed her lead, searching for more Blooders.
"Why do you call them Blooders?" Vegas asked Alue.
"Because they search for fresh blood and are mindless killing machines. Does that make you feel satisfied, Hugo?" Alue glared at him.
Hugo didn't even answer, because he knows it was mostly his fault."
"I heard a screech!" Kiana reported to Alue as she stopped leaping.
"I heard that, too..." Alue scanned everywhere at the ground, trying to find the Blooder who planned to attack someone. "There!" Alue ran to create kinetic energy. She jumped to where the Blooder was and landed on its head, bashing its jaw to the ground.
Vegas took this as her cue and did the same. Only she shot the Blooder at its limbs, trying to at least weaken it. She couldn't help but feel regret and self hatred. But she knows she can't focus on that now. Now was the chance to at least prevent the epidemic from spreading further.
Kiana grabbed Vegas by the arms, yanking her just in time before she was bitten at the shoulder.
Vegas snapped her attention back to reality.
"Pay more attention! You're lucky I caught you in time!" Kiana scolded Vegas as if she was a three year old who almost burnt her hands.
Alue kept fighting the Blooder and yelled, "More capturing; less fighting, please?!" The Blooder almost bit Alue at the jugular vein as she was struggling against its strength. Even though the Blooder was shot a bullet to each limb, its strength seemed like it didn't decrease!
Kiana pulled out a onyx blade from her left boot and created momentum, running towards the Blooder. She jumped over its razor skin shredding teeth, dodging its attack. She glided over its jaws. Just as she calculated, this move gave her the advantage to stab it at the jaw and quickly pulled another onyx blade from her right boot, and stab the Blooder near the eye.
