Chapter 20: Unexplainable Events (part 1 out of 4)

Recap: Nine paused for a second and ignored Akio for a minute. He seemed like he heard what Kitaya said and pointed his gun to shoot at one of the bars, shooting off one of the screws and made the Ferris wheel rattle.
Akio sprinted to help the people on the Ferris wheel...
But Nine caught him with just one arm and shot another bullet at the center of the Ferris wheel.
Akio couldn't take his eyes off the people falling from the Ferris wheel...

Akio was agape as he saw more...
More hybrids?!
Akio witnessed more hybrids that quickly rushed to the Ferris wheel in nano seconds! They caught and helped the humans land safely. But there was another thing Akio noticed...
Most of the hybrids wore a bandana that covered half of their faces. Smart move.
Of course, the humans couldn't believe how this miracle happened.
Some were afraid, some were thankful, others just ran away.
What a quaint world we all live in, don't you think so?
Nine didn't expect to see more hybrids that didn't live underground. He was taken aback, which gave Akio the upper hand.
Akio slithered himself free from Nine's grip and sprinted to the crowds...

"Akio!" Kitaya rummaged through the crowds to find Akio.
"Who are you looking for, miss?" A tall male who with with a Irish accent had dark purple hair and amber eyes tapped on Kitaya's shoulder and kindly smiled as if he was happy to help.
"I'm looking for a friend." Kitaya explained. "This stranger had a gun and seemed like he was following my friend after he shot at the Ferris wheel."
The male intently listened to her and nodded. "Alright. What does your friend look like?"
"He is a hybrid with cat ears, has black hair, baby blue eyes and light tan skin. He's a bit taller than me." Kitaya explained.
"Thank you, miss, I'll look for 'im." The purple haired male began to search everywhere in the Tech Park to look for Akio. Of course, he won't be the only one searching without his friends...

"Come back, you brat!" Nine followed Akio's scent as he ran. "You can't hide from me..." He glared at his surroundings as he paused to sniff the air again.
"No, but I can defend myself!" Akio punched Nine at the face and kneed him in the abdomen.
"You're making the situation harder on yourself, brat." Nine picked up Akio by the neck and strangled him.
Akio tried to catch his breath and use his legs to kick Nine in the crotch.
Nine drop Akio and fell to his knees as he groaned in pain.
Akio crawled away from Nine at a good distance and breathed slowly.
Nine regained strength and shot Akio at his left leg. "Missed!" He aimed again at Akio's neck.
"Not today, Nine." The purple haired male landed on Nine's back; making him collapse.
Akio got up and grunted from the pain in his left leg and decided to sit again.
"You alright?" The purple haired male asked as he checked Akio's wound.
"Yeah, I'm fine, thank you. Physically? I'm not okay." Akio chuckled and saw a familiar blonde girl with blue eyes...
"Kitaya, you're ok." Akio muttered and grinned as she ran towards him.
"I thought that man killed you..." Kitaya hugged Akio but tried to breathe slowly.
"Well, I'm still alive. Hey, what happened to our friends? Are they ok?" Akio folded his cat ears downwards.
"Yeah. They're ok." Kitaya sighed and then smiled. "I think my dad will be so worried about us."
"I'm just thankful nothing bad happened to anyone. Especially my friends." Akio shrugged and smiled...
