RIVER POV
After I packed up everything into the car, I showered, brushed my teeth and got ready. I took extra care in what I did, I didn't want to disappoint her. It was the cleanest shower I'd ever taken in my twenty two years and I brushed twice.
"How do I look?" I asked Cam as I walked into the living room. I had on black ripped skinny jeans, a grey sweater and my trusty leather jacket. I left my hair to fall onto my shoulders. We were going casual, I already texted her to dress comfortable.
She tore her eyes away from her book. "Cute." She smiled. "Ish." She added when I turned to leave. I glared at my sister as she laughed. "I'm kidding, you look great."
"Don't mess with me. I'm already nervous." I bit my thumb nail.
"Why?" She asked closing her book.
"Because she's a grown ass woman, who has a stable job and isn't into games. I've never done serious before." I said in a panicked voice. "What if I mess up?"
"Would you calm down? She asked you out, didn't she? And believe me, she already knows how childish you could be, everyone does." Cam did not help with that.
"That didn't help." I shook my head frantically.
"Just be you. Now go, I'm busy." She shooed me away and went back to her book.
"Oh, mom called, their trip is being extended. Something about the shoot locations being messed up." Cam nodded, still focused on her book. "I already locked all the doors and windows, so lock the front door behind me." She nodded again. "Cameron, are you listening?"
She looked up. "Yes, trip extended, doors and windows locked, lock the front door. Would you leave already?" She rolled her eyes.
I put my hands on my waist. "We should get a dog, I'm going to get a dog. A big ass German Shepard, those are nice dogs."
"Must you be so overprotective?" She snorted.
"The alarm is also set. Be good." I went over and kissed her head.
"Yes, mom." She mocked.

I knocked on her door and waited. She lived in a cute two story house two streets away from us. Her yard was well kept with different varieties of flowers, it looked pretty. The door opened to reveal my date in a short white floral print romper, a peach cardigan thrown over it. Her hair was up in a bun, a few strands of soft curls fell to frame her enthralling face.
"H-hi. You look.....heart stopping." I mumbled.
She flashed that smile that gets my heart rate increasing. "Thank you. You look beautiful."
I got out of my daze and gave her the flowers I got for her. "Here."
She smiled and thanked me. "I should put them into water."
I shook my head quickly. "No need, they're fake." A brow rose in question. "Real ones die, these you get to keep." I shrugged. "Since I didn't know your favorite, I got you mine." I got her pink carnations.
"Well, I guess that's true." She chuckled softly. "I love this but my favorite are daisies."
"I'll keep that in mind." I mentally stored that away in my mind.
I opened her door and closed it after she got in. Soon we were on our way.
"Are you going to tell me where we're going?"
"Nope." I glanced at her before looking back to the road. "It's a surprise."
I pulled in the road that leads to the lake and drove slowly since it was a narrow road.
