KAILEE POV

I opened my eyes and met sea green ones staring back at me. The cutest grin in place, automatically making one appear on my face. It'd been the same routine for years and honestly, the best part of my day.

"Good morning, mommy." My three year old whispered the loudest whisper ever, then leaned in to kiss my forehead.

It was a trait he picked up from River. Sometimes I woke up to both of them just there, waiting.

I grabbed him and brought him to me, kissing his little face as much as his wiggling body let me. "Good morning, Kaiden."

"Daddy and Rilee made breakfast." He informed, his little voice still a little gibberish.

The whole daddy thing came on its own. After Rilee started talking, River tried so many times to get her to say 'momma', but the little girl would not budge. River eventually gave up and we now had fun with it. The looks on people's faces when one of them called for 'daddy' and she answered, was priceless.

"Oh yeah? We should get down there then." I got up with him in my arms, heading to the bathroom. "Did you brush stinky?"

He giggled and shook his head, brown curls getting into his eyes as he did. "No, I wanna wait for you."

I moved the hair out of his eyes and set him down. "Alright."

After we were done, I turned so he could jump on my back. Hooking my arms under his knees with his arms loosely around my neck, I walked to the kitchen. The scent of bacon and coffee engulfed me, the closer we got.

"You were suppose to keep an eye on it." River complained in a childlike tone.

"I'm five daddy, you can't expect that of me!" Our daughter matched her tone, little hands in fists at her sides.

I stopped before entering, watching them stare each other down.

"Who's gonna win this time." Kaiden whispered. I shrugged in response.

This was also a daily occurrence, they'd fight and then have a stare down. Whoever blinks first loses. For almost thirty seconds I watched my wife and daughter scowling at each other. Then Rilee sneezed.

"Ha, loser!" River fisted pumped.

"River!" I scolded, finally entering the kitchen fully.

"H-hey baby, didn't see you there." She smiled sheepishly.

"Uh huh." I rolled my eyes.

I placed our youngest in his chair, then picked Rilee up. After a kiss good morning, I put her in hers. River came up to me, circling my waist.

"Good morning, love."

"Good morning. Next time, try to refrain from calling our kid a loser." I patted her cheek.

"But she made me burn the eggs." She reasoned. I lifted a treathening brow in response, making her nod her head. "Yes, ma'am."

Breakfast as usual was filled with weird games between my girls, food being thrown, Kaiden feeding Lexi under the table and me gaining a headache. Rilee was River's angel, she treated her like royalty since the day she was born. They made up weird games and always fought in the kitchen.

Rilee had blonde curly hair, amber eyes and high cheek bones with a slightly lighter skin complexion than mine. She honestly was a beautiful little girl. Took after me alot personality wise, serious but calm with a fiery spirit. I think that's why she and River argued so much. While my wife was still very much a child at heart, our daughter scolded her on a daily basis. Kaiden had River's eyes but other than that, he took after me. River did instill some of her traits in him, hence the staring at me each morning and being glued to me most of the time.
