CAMERON POV

We sat side by side in the back seat, our legs brushing every now and then. Looking down, I noticed the difference in the length of our legs and I couldn't help the chuckle that escaped.

"What's funny?" Bri asked, looking at me.

I stared into those icy blues almost getting lost. "I'm tiny compared to you." I forced myself to look away from her and down at our legs.

I heard a small raspy laugh leave her. "Ron, you're tiny compared to everyone."

"Am not." I pouted.

We made eye contact and I swore my heart stopped. It always reacted this way to her, just one look and I was gone.

"You're right. The dog's still shorter, though not by much." She reached over to Ace on the other side of me. Her arm behind me, and I subconsciously snuggled to her

I felt her stiffen slightly and I was about to pull away. Before I could, her arm wrapped around my shoulder to keep me in place. I didn't fight it and stayed. I didn't know I had drifted off until I felt someone shake me.

"Ronnie, we're here." She whispered, then shook me a bit. She didn't do it like she really wanted to wake me, it was more like she was afraid to disturb my sleep. I kept my eyes closed, purposely snuggling closer to her warmth. "Ron,"

I heard her sigh and then her arms maneuvered to pick me up. I smiled against her neck as she carried me into the house.

"You could've woken her." I heard mom's voice.

"I tried, she wouldn't budge." Bri replied.

"You two can use the room you usually do, Brianna." Aunt Chloe's voice then came.

She started to walk in the direction of the room, I assumed. I heard the door kick open and then, I felt my body being thrown on the bed.

"What the hell, Bri?!" I yelled.

She was grinning down at me. "I knew you were awake, you little minx." She jumped on the bed too.

"You always do, so why not let me get away with it." I whined and laid down beside her.

She chuckled with a shrug. "I miss visiting here with you guys." She said, staring up at the ceiling.

I turned to my side to see her face. "Bri?"

"Mhm?" She stayed looking up.

I took a breath and let it out. "Jade kissed me last night." I whispered.

Her calm facial features changed in an instant. They turned stoic and expressionless. "Oh."

"She also asked me out, do you think I should?" I was setting myself up for heartbreak all over again, but I had to try again.

She turned to me then, scanning my face slowly. "Do you want to?" She asked barely audible.

"Do you want me to?" I asked back.

I saw her expression falter. She turned back to the ceiling without giving a reply.

A knock came on the door before it opened. "Come on, girls. Dinner's ready." Mama said before leaving.

"Let's go." Bri got up but then turned back to me, holding her hand out for me.

I took it with a smile and together we walked out, hand in hand.

We had dinner and then went for a walk, taking Bran with us. He was ten and they adopted him three years ago. He was running in front of us, playing with Ace. I was doing my best not to stare at Bri's legs that her dress revealed, instead focusing on the matter at hand.
