A/N: y'all wanted Cam and Bri, here you go. This chapter and the next will be about them☺
BRIANNA POV
Leaning against the lockers, I waited for Ronnie to get her stuff out. Things between us had been going alright for the most part. It was a little weird but we both ignored whatever it was between us. Although I did miss our cuddles and sleepovers. Those had stopped and I was scared to say anything about it. This girl meant so much to me, she was the only family I had.
"Crap, I forgot my book at home." She whined. Even that was adorable.
I looked down at the shorter brunette. "You'll survive one day without reading, Ron." I smiled.
She shook her head with a pout. "I guess." She held her bag on her shoulder as we began to walk to class.
Still keeping up my pace with her, I unzipped my bag and took out one of her book I had in there. "Here you go."
She stopped in her tracks when she saw it. "You have one." She smiled big, hopping a bit in her place and taking it.
I chuckled at her cuteness. "Yeah, just in case. Don't want you to stay pouting all day just because you couldn't read." I tapped her little nose with my finger. I always kept one, she left so many at my house.
Her smile faltered just a bit but she tried to hide it by turning and walking again. For some reason that hurt, just a bit. I shook off the feeling and met up with her again.
"Wanna watch a movie tonight?" I asked, hoping to spend some time with her.
"I would but Jade is coming over to finish our project." She replied, seeming to be genuinely regretful.
"What about afterwards?" We stopped at her classroom.
"It's due Monday and I won't have time this weekend. We still have a bit of work to do, so I don't know what time we'll be done." She answered slowly, then bit her lip.
I breathed in and out. "Oh, okay." I adjusted my bag strap on my shoulder. "I'm guessing this weekend is off to then?"
"Sorry, Bri. I'm going with my parents to see my aunts Skylar and Chloe." She gave a small smile.
Ignoring the lonely ache in my chest, I gave her my best smile before saying 'goodbye' and going to my own class.
***
I walked into the empty house, shutting the door behind me. I dropped my stuff on the nearest surface and went into the kitchen. Before I could get myself a drink, I noticed the envelope on the counter.
He was here and he didn't even stick around to see me...
Ignoring the emotions that crept up on me, I took my phone out and dialled his number.
"What is it, Brianna?" He answered.
"Um, I just wanted-" I tried to say.
He sighed as though exhausted with me. "I left you money, there's no need to call me."
Clearing my throat, I tried to fight the tears wanting to fall. "Right, yeah. I didn't see it, but here it is."
He scoffed. "Grow up Brianna. You're eighteen so act like it." He hung up.
I picked up the envelope filled with cash. "Always so thoughtful, Mr Lewis."
Normally I'd be at Ronnie's but I didn't want to be a bother. I guessed that Jade was into her and I wasn't going to get in the way. I admit to being jealous but it was my own doing. I made the call to stay friends because I was so scared of losing her. I couldn't lose Cameron.
