RIVER POV

I carefully took off the condoms and tossed it in the trash. Moving off of the bed, I hurriedly put my clothes on.

"That was fun as usual." Gail spoke, slightly breathless from our ramp in the sheets.

"Uh huh." I replied while looking for my socks.

Gail and I have been going at it a lot these past three weeks since work had been stressful. We both knew we never wanted more, which is why I had no problem with this.

"Am I seeing you tomorrow?" She asked as she stretched her arms over her head.

I spared a glance in her direction. "No, I'm busy for the next couple of weeks."

"Fine by me. Dean can take care of me." She said as she closed her eyes.

Gail liked sex. A lot. If she wasn't sleeping with me, it was with her ex boyfriend Dean. I always double wrapped with her. Just in case.

"Cool. Later." I was out of her place with that.

I hopped on my bike and sped off. It had been a long few weeks. I hadn't talked to the curly haired goddess since that day at my parent's or seen her. She was always on my mind though and honestly, it was getting a bit annoying. Her eyes still stared at me and her laughter still rung through my ears. Her stupid smirk kept taunting me and I wanted to just kiss it right off.

To top it off, the guy we caught that was supposed to lead us to the drug dealer in charge, refused to talk and got out. We didn't have anything solid to keep him. We still kept an eye on him but he'd been careful not to let anything slip. The people were selling drugs to minors and not just any drugs. Hard drugs, meth, cocaine, heroin, hydrocodone, oxycodone, you name it. The worst part? Two teenagers overdosed last week. It was taking a toll on everyone. Even Captain Anderson seemed defeated.

I pulled into the driveway and took off my helmet. Shaking my shoulder length blonde hair, I beelined to the front door. I waited a few minutes before Ma opened the door. She looked a little breathless and her face was red.

"Are you okay?" I asked, walking in.

She coughed and walked past me. "Yup, I'm all good."

I noticed her shirt was on backwards as well as her pants were unbuttoned. Mom walked in with a smile plastered on her face.

"Hey, honey."

I tightly shut my eyes and willed my mind to not go there. "Why? Why why why? You knew I was coming over tonight. You couldn't have waited. Ew gross." I visibly shivered.

"Oh, would you relax. How do you think you got here. FedEx?" Mom rolled her eyes.

Then a thought came. "You did the nasty with the baby in the house?!"

"Okay, first of all, Cameron is seventeen, she's not a baby and no. She's at a friend's." Mom scoffed. "Baby, fix your clothes." She directed at Ma.

Ma stood there bouncing in her place, looking at the floor. "Y-yeah. I'm uh...gonna go fix my-myself." She speed walked out.

I shook my head in an attempt to rid myself of everything that just happened. "What time are you guys leaving tomorrow"

"At 5am. You sure you can handle things for the next two weeks right?" Mom asked as she opened the fridge.

"Yes, I am capable of taking care of a house and my sister." I sat on the stool.

"Your brother already left for his business trip, right?" She took out stuff for a sandwich.
