JISUNG POV
After leaving Minhos place things were a little awkward. He felt good though that Minho did no longer think he had done something wrong and knew it was all about Jisung. Doing the project with Minho wouldn't be a big problem for Jisung and he even thought they might get along well. Now he should just do his part of the work.
Jisung opened the door to their house and heard laughing from kitchen. He saw a suitcase in the hall and realized his mother had came back today. Immediately he felt sad and betrayed. Even though he thought things might get messy once mother was home again he also would've wanted to be there when she came back. He took off his jacket and kicked his shoes off. While creating a rather fake smile on his face he slowly walked to the kitchen.
"JISUNG! My golden little boy. I've missed you so much. Come here and give mom a big hug." his mother yelled right after seeing him. Jisung walked to her and give her a big hug. Hugging mom felt weird after such a long time. He felt as if he was still a little boy and started sobbing. Mom patted his head gently and kissed his forehead.
Long conversations later Jisung was ready to go to sleep. His mom had told them plenty of different things that had happened to her in Malaysia. She didn't feel like their mom anymore. Jisung laid in his bed thinking about everything that had happened when he heard his door quietly opening. "Are you already sleeping?" Jeongin asked softly. Jisung tapped the bed beside him and invited Jeongin to lie besides him. "Is something wrong?" he then asked his little brother. Jeongin seemed to ponder something before answering: "Not exactly, I just wanted to talk about mom with you. Didn't she seem weird?" Jisung nodded and thought how he could describe her: "Yep, it was as if she was still in Malaysia. So distant and she didn't feel like mom anymore. Like she was a completely different person." Jeongin stayed there the whole night and it was the first time they slept in the same bed after mom leaving to Malaysia.
After getting about 2 hours of sleep last night Jisung looked extremely weary when he woke up. Jeongin was already gone because his school day started couple of hours earlier. After showering and putting clothes on Jisung decided to call Felix and ask if they should go to school together. Felix was up to that and said he would be in front of their house in 20 minutes. Jisung just packed his backpack and went downstairs to get some breakfast. His mother was sitting on the living room couch. "Good morning honey, ready to go to school? I can give you a ride." mother suggested. "Morning and thanks for the offer but I already promised to my friend that we'd go together. Maybe another day mom." Jisung answered feeling kind of relieved that he wouldn't have to be alone with his mother. On the other hand his mother looked disappointed and just said: "You sure aren't my little boy anymore. But have a nice day and we can talk when you get home." The tone in her voice sent him on a guilt trip. Should he have cancelled with Felix just to be with her mother who hasn't been in his life properly for years? It wouldn't have felt right because Felix had been his best friend for years and he was always there for him.
"So how did it go yesterday? With Minho?" Felix asked right after meeting Jisung. "Oh, it went kinda well. We decided on our subject for the project and talked about how we'd keep on doing it. Uhm, it was a little awkward tho because he asked me why I had been so cold towards him before yesterday. I explained to him about my anxiety with new people and stuff. But that wasn't the worst part of yesterday since when I got home my mother was there." Jisung vented out without almost breathing the whole time. It took a moment for Felix to handle all the information at once, after a few second he said: "Okay, so it went well with Minho. I'm sure it won't be as awkward when you continue working together. And I'm surprised your mother got back so quickly. How was she?" "It might give you just enough information that Jeongin came to sleep next to me because of how confused he was about the situation. You know how good he is handling everything that comes his way so this was absolutely shocking. Mom was alright tho and he told us a lot about Malaysia but she felt very strange. Not like a family member." was everything Jisung was able to tell Felix about the situation before they arrived to the school yard.
