Chapter 47: Fight Or Flight

Beacon Academy

On top of Beacon academy we find Y/N, laying down on the tallest tower of the school, looking up at the sky. It had been a long day for him, he had taken his evidence to Ozpin who was then able to let Yang go free. However she would be monitored and as punishment all of team RWBY was disqualified from the festival. Y/N had wished that wouldn't of happened but the people had made their own decision.

Y/N was glad to have Yang somewhat cleared but there was still more to be done. Ozpin had let Y/N know that he would look into Emerald and Mercury along with Cinder but there was a problem. Apparently all three of them had left Beacon and apparently Vale back to Mistral. There was still more that Y/N needed to do, he was going to be fighting in the festival again. Also there was something bothering Y/N, a sour smell filled the air. It was the smell of anger, disappointment and disgust and it was strong.

Y/N knew what those kind of emotions would attract, grimm, grimm fed off those emotions and would swarm the source of it. Hopefully the Atlas military would be able to handle any grimm that may try to approach the city but Y/N had his doubts. For now Y/N would only warn Ozpin and Ironwood of what he was sensing. From there it would be their problem, then his if they failed.

I couldn't stay up here forever, there was things that I needed to get done. I had received a message on my scroll that Yang was settling down in her dorm. I also received a message that the person I would be going up against in the festival was a guy from Atlas. Apparently his name was Theo and he was a snake faunus of some sort. His weapons were a pair of smgs that fired venomous darts that could also explode. It didn't seem like much of a challenge for me with my many tools and tricks.

Before I could do anything else there was something important that I needed to get done. I altered my senses with my nanomachies and I also connected to all the cameras in Vale. My goal was to get an entire 3d image of Vale where I could both see and hear everyone. I couldn't shake this feeling that Cinder and her two goons didn't leave Vale. They had something planned and I was going to find out what it was before something bad happened.

I searched for the three of them for like an hour but didn't find any trace of them. "Damn, I thought that would do something" I say to myself in frustration. Looking at the time on my scroll I decided that it would be best if I head over to the colloseum. I looked over the ledge of the tower and jumped off. Mid air I formed my biotech wings and descended down to the ground.

My landing startled some people but I didn't pay much attention to it. I deformed my wings and began to walk towards the colloseum. "You belong to me" a voice said behind my back. I turn around and don't see anything there. "I'm coming to take you back where you belong, with me" the same voice said. I frantically looked around for whoever is talking to me but I still don't see anyone. "My blood runs through your veins, you'll give me what he could not" the voice says to me.

Eventually I feel a strong pain in my head, I do whatever I can to fight the pain but it still stings. "Get out of my head, you don't own me, no one owns me" I tell the voice. "Fight me all you want but the moment you were marked you became mine" the voices tells me. " I only have one mark and it reminds me every day of what I will never become" I tell the voice. "The truth looks you in the face and soon you will give in, either to me or that fool but in the end you'll become what you were destined to be" the voice tells me.

"A hero, a hero is what I will be and there is nothing any of you can do" I tell the voice. Soon the pain leaves my head and I no longer hear the voice talking to me anymore. "That's what I thought" I say to myself as I continue to walk. I walk past a food stand and decide that I haven't eaten anything in awhile. Before I go and buy myself something to eat I smell something that bothers me.

"Found you" I say, immediately I form my wings and take to the sky. Once I'm all the way in the air I hone in on the scent. As I fly towards the scent, I hear sounds of fighting. I recognize the sounds of one of the weapons that are being used. It was Crecent Rose, that meant that Ruby was fighting him. If I didn't hurry she could end up being put in danger. "I'm coming Ruby" I say giving myself a boost.

Time Skip

With the boost that I gave myself I managed to trace down Ruby's location. Down bellow I saw Ruby busy fighting with Mercury. "I knew they didn't leave" I say to myself as I land down at full speeds. My landing created a small crater in the ground "big bro, its you" Ruby says. "Hey there little sis, let me deal with this punk" I reply. "Are you sure big bro?" Ruby asks me "you know what, I would actually like your help" I answer.

"I was wondering when you would come and find me" Mercury says. "I couldn't at first but then I smelt you, heads up take a shower or put on some deodorant" I reply. That angers Mercury a bit "truth hurts" I say. Mercury begins to chuckle looking at me "what's so funny?" I ask. "Nothing really, you could say I've got some new tricks to stop you" Mercury answers.

"We'll see about that" I say as I form my hand into my new axe. "That's new" Ruby says "I picked it up yesterday" I reply. "This is going to get fun" Mercury says pulling out a weapon and aiming it at me. As I rush towards Mercury he fires his new gun and a black bullet comes straight for me. Not thinking much of it I cut the bullet in half with my axe.

When I cut the bullet in half something happens. The bullet turns into a black liquid and then forms 10 more bullets. I act quickly and harden my skin to protect myself. However most of the bullets hit me and begin to dig themselves through my hardened skin. "What's happening?" I ask "You belong to her" Mercury says. Just then the bullets finally enter my body and the black liquid begins to tear my body apart.

"Big brother!!!" Ruby yells as she runs over to me, I raise my hand and stop her. "Don't worry about me" I tell her as I slowly walk over to Mercury. "You've forced me to raise my hand" the voice tells me "I'm not worried" I tell the voice. A black liquid begins to leak out from the holes in my body created by the bullets. "This isn't going to stop me" I say "not yet" Mercury replies firing another shot at me. I don't do anything and let the bullet hit me in the chest.

Something in my blood began to happen, I could feel it absorbing the black liquid and killing it. That's when I felt the immense pain that I once felt a long time ago. "Time for you to die pal" Mercury says.

A/N: CLIFFHANGER!!! I'm back and I end in cliffhanger, sorry readers but I promise there will be more in the next chapter. What do you think is happening to Y/N's body and what did Mercury hit him with. I can't say anything without spoiling it but I do like seeing you readers guess.
