Chapter 16: Blake's Secret

Vale

My team and I were enjoying our time off from school by walking through Vale. The Vytal festival was coming up and we had been getting ready for it for awhile now. I had been practicing with the weapons I recently got the mace from Cardin and the lance from the cyber grimm. We hadn't ran into any cyber grimm recently which was good. But we heard that reports of grimm gaining a boost of power and killing hunters had been happening more and more.

It was just like with the boartusk and the ursa major. I didn't know what was going on but it wasn't good not good at all. We were looking at all of the shops in town. We came across one shop that had been broken into the owners had been killed. Nothing had been taken from the store so it was weird. Rider used Huginn and Muninn to see what the crime scene looked like. "The wounds on the bodies look like bullet holes and they are all over" Rider told us.

"Who do you think did it?" Chris asked "whoever did it can't be a sane person" Benny answered. "Heard there were more dust store robberies as well" I said "yeah the white fang have been acting weird as well they steal dust but not money" Rider said. We continued to walk down the street when I accidentally ran into someone. "I am so sorry" the person said "no it's my fault" I said getting up. When I did I felt an incredible pain it was like I ran into a brick wall.

Now I knew how others felt when they would hit me with my cells hardened. I looked at the person who I ran into and turns out it was a little girl. "Uh hi there miss..." I said confused "salutations my name is Penny" the girl said. "Hi there Penny" Chris said "yes hello there small one" Rider said "man you sure are cute" Benny said "yeah hey there Penny it's Y/N sorry for running into you" I said. "Oh my goodness your hair is so cool" Penny said to Chris.

"Thanks I use a special kind of dye" Chris said "and some flea and tick shampoo" Rider spoke up "I'm sorry it was one time read a label" Chris replied. Penny laughed at the two she looked up at Benny "and you sure are tall mister" Penny said to him. Benny let out a light chuckle "yeah I get that a lot" he said. "You know Benny I think you grew again your probably at 6'8 or 7'0" I said.

"All of you guys are cool and your really nice" Penny said "man aren't you as cute as a button" Benny said. "Hey Penny are you participating in the Vytal festival?" I asked. "Yes Y/N I am participating in the Vytal festival because you see I'm combat ready" Penny answered flexing her arm. While Penny was talking to us I began to notice something was off about her. My eyes detected technology running all through her body. I couldn't put my finger on it maybe she had biotech like we did.

"Well it will be good to see a friendly face like yours at the festival" Chris said "friendly wait are we friends?" Penny asked. "I mean sure yeah we can be friends" Chris said "I don't mind having a friend that is as sweet as you" Benny said "you talk a lot but I don't see why not" Rider said "sure Penny we'll be your friends" I said. Penny began to jump up and down excited "I am so excited to have friends" Penny said.

We all said goodbye to Penny and began to go our separate ways. My team and I decided to walk down to the docks. The boats with students from other schools were arriving now. Rider had said that it was our duty as students of Beacon to welcome these people. Right away the three of us knew why he wanted to go down there. "You just want to check out the competition" Chris said to him. "Shut up Fang Face" Rider replied.

Time Skip

We had been walking down to the docs when I saw Blake suddenly run past us. She looked like she was in a hurry to run away from something. "Blake slow down" a voice said I looked over to see Ruby running after Blake. I stopped Ruby "little sis slow down" I said "can't need to stop Blake need for her and Weiss to make up" Ruby said. "Wait, what happened between her and Weiss?" I asked.
