Chapter 38: Round 1

Coliseum Arena

The duel between my team and the team from Haven had began, right away my mind was thinking of a plan to deal with them. I knew right away that I would be dealing with Sammantha, by the looks of Tony's weapons I knew Benny was going to be the one to deal with him, Ronnie looked a bruiser which meant Chris was going to have to deal with him and with Martha she was a sniper, Rider was going to have to deal with her but seeing that her weapon was also a sword so Rider was going to have to be careful.

"Okay guys, this is the plan, Benny you deal with MC Hammer, Chris I need you to duke it out with Ronnie and Rider go and shoot it out with Martha but be careful with her she might try and go up close and personal with you" I told my team. "Okay, so that means your gonna fight it out with Sammantha?" Benny asked. "Yeah, there's something that I want to try out" I answered looking at Sammantha's weapon. Right away as our plan came together professor Port and Dr. Oobleck announced that fight would begin.

Immediately the other team charged directly at my team and I, we almost didn't have enough time put our plan into action. "Guys take your person" I said as I jumped out of the way of Sammantha's attack. Sammantha began swinging her weapon around like she wqs dancing with it. "You aren't going to win this" Sammantha said "yeah, I actually kind of like my team's odds in this fight" I replied. I swung my blade at Sammantha who blocked it with her own weapon. It seemed like every time I attacked Sammantha she had a way of blocking it.

Sammantha started spinning her weapon around on her wrist then onto her other wrist before she flung it at me. I didn't want to show all of my tricks in this tournament so I hardened my cells in my normal hand and blocked the bladded wheel. Sammantha had a look of surpise on her face when she saw me block her attack and stopped her weapon. I grabbed Sammantha's weapon and had my biotech arm absorb her weapon. I didn't want to be a dick so when my arm finished absorbing her weapon I didn't destroy it like when I absorbed Cardin's mace.

I threw Maggie's weapon back at her to which she caught with ease, she looked at her weapon inspecting it. "What did you do with my weapon?" Sammantha asked "don't worry your weapon is fine, I didn't do anything to it" I answered. "You arm did something to it" Sammantha said in suspicion "that's true" I replied. My arm split open and began to transform into a weapon. A large wheel like blade came out of my arm. I grabbed the handle and of the blade and started spinning it around.

"I see now, that arm is pretty cool and so is that weapon" Sammantha said "thanks, the weapon is pretty cool though seems a bit “unique”" I said spinning the weapon around. Sammantha and I resumed fighting, our weapons clashed back and forth. Sammantha was a skilled opponent, I could tell that she had trained all her life with that weapon. I had only now began using it, but thanks to my photographic memory I was studying all of Sammantha's moves and now I could say I was somewhat of an expert.

However Sammantha was more of an expert then me at using this weapon. We continued fighting but I quickly noticed that she was managing to cutting me all over. The cuts were small at first but the more I got cut the larger the cuts became. Thanks to my nano machines the wounds healed but if this didn't end soon my nano machines weren't going to be able to keep up. I looked around and saw that my team was also having a hard time keeping up with their opponents as well. Their auras were in the yellow but were nowhere near the red yet.

I decided to try something with the weapon that Sammantha couldn't do with hers. I slammed my weapon down onto the ground and the blades on it shot out and hit Sammantha. Her aura went from yellow to red meaning she was out of the fight. "And what do you know the Sammatha Rodgers, the leader of team STRM is the first to be knocked out of the fight" professor Port said. I looked over and saw my team continuing to fight their opponents. I ran over to Benny as he was blocking the swings of Tony's hammers. "Benny do you need any help?" I asked "yeah could you give me a little boost" Benny answered.

My hand split open and my bladed whip came out and I began to swing it at Tony's feet. Tony couldn't block both my attacks and Benny's attack, as soon as Benny swung his massive sword down on Tony's hammer he switched to the plasma blade and reved it up. This distracted Tony giving me time to use my whip to wrap up Tony's feet and pull him down. Once Tony was on the ground Benny only had to step on him to get his aura to go into the red. "The next one to fall is Tony Straum of team STRM" professor Port said. "Thanks for the assist" Benny said as we fist bumped "what our teammates for" I replied.

We looked over at Chris in his full beast form tossing Ronnie around like a ragdoll. "He doesn't look like he needs our help" I said "you did tell him to duke it out" Benny replied. "Yeah I know, but I didn't say rip him apart like a chew toy" I said. We then looked over at Rider who was having a difficult time holding off Martha as she was trying to cut his head off. "Hey Benny I want to try something" I said "and what would that be?" Benny asked.

Rider was engaged with Martha, he was blocking all of her sword swings with his bow. He wasn't able to get a shot off because Martha was not letting him. At first they had a shoot out but Martha's sniper was too powerful. Rider's arrows weren't doing much not even the special ones. Rider did hit her with a shock dust arrow, it hurt but didn't faze her. If Rider didn't get any help he wasn't going to win this fight. He fired three explosive arrows and put some distance between him and Martha.

Off in the distance Benny was in his biotech armor, he was grabbing Y/N by his shirt. Benny spun around and threw Y/N at Martha, Y/N's arm was in it's claw form. "One fast ball special coming up" Y/N said as Benny let go of him launching him at Martha. Martha cut down both Huginn and Muninn angering Rider. Rider swung his bow hitting Martha but she blocked and cut his arm causing him to drop his bow. As Martha was about to finish off Rider Y/N hit her knocking her down into the ground. Flipped Martha up and kicked her into the air "Rider do it now" Y/N said.

Rider kicked his bow up and grabbed it, he quickly fired three arrows at Martha. An ice arrow froze Martha, the fire arrow destroyed the ice and the shock arrow sent Martha crashing to the ground. Martha's aura instantly went into the red meaning she was out of the fight. "In a turn of events with the help of a teammate Martha Lee has been taken out by Y/N Rose and Rider Lang" professor Port said. "You know, I think the guys and I need to teach you some hand to hand combat" Y/N said to Rider. "Yeah yeah whatever, she just got the better of me" Rider replied.

"Look at this now the last member of team STRM Ronnie Jenkins has been eliminated" professor Port said. Y/N and Rider looked over to see Chris change back to normal posing for the audience. "He's going to let this go to his head, isn't he?" Rider asked Y/N "yeah, you are right about that one" Y/N answered. "You are going to deal with it not me" Rider said picking up the remains of Huginn and Muninn.

"The first round of the Vytal festival is over and the winners are team CYBR" doctor Oobleck said. All of the audience broke out into a roaring cheer, they all cheered for Y/N and his team. All of Y/N's teams regrouped "I'd say we did pretty good" Chris said "yeah, we did good but I think we need some more training" Y/N said. "Rider we need to teach you how to throw a punch" Benny said patting Rider on the back. "Next round is two of us, we're definitely going to be need some training" Y/N replied.

A/N: Alright everyone, Y/N and his team have just won their first fight in the Vytal festival. Next round is going to be two of them, who are the lucky two going to be? I have a few surprises for the upcoming chapters that I am sure you all are going to like. I can't say much without spoiling  them but the first one is going to be a needed break.
