Chapter 26: Something

Beacon Academy

In miss Goodwitch's combat class we see Pyrrha sparing against all of team CRDL. Team CRDL does everything they can to defeat Pyrrha but they all fail. Pyrrha is to skilled and easily defeats them all one by one. Cardin does everything he can to win even after all of his teammates got defeated. "Give up now Cardin and this will hurt less" Pyrrha warns Cardin. "As if, I am not going to lose to you" Cardin replies.

Cardin charges at Pyrrha swinging his mace ready to beat her and win this spar. Pyrrha puts up her shield, right as Cardin swings his mace down. Pyrrha blocks the attack then uses her spear to hit Cardin. That attack makes Cardin's aura drop down to the yellow ending the spar. "This match is over the winner is Pyrrha" miss Goodwitch announces to everyone.

Cardin and his team return back to their seats in anger. Miss Goodwitch decided that since Pyrrha defeated team CRDL very quickly that there should be another. Goodwitch looks around for someone else to come up and spar. Right away she singles out Blake who appears to be very deprived of sleep. Right away Mercury Black speaks up and volunteers himself to be the one to spar.

Mercury walks down to the stage from his seat. Since Pyrrha already spared with team CRDL she suggests that Mercury spar with someone else. "Okay I'd like to spar with him" Mercury says pointing up at the stands.

So I wasn't exactly paying attention to what was going on with the spar from what I had seen Pyrrha won as expected. From there I was focusing on Roman and the white fang. Blake and I had been spending a lot of time trying to figure out their next plan. I was also trying to get her to sleep since she needed my body had adapted to point where sleep was just trivial. Something else was bothering her she was cat faunus and cats go through that time of the year.

Since we were dating it was down to me to help her with that. My fear was that everything I went through as a child would prevent me from being able to help her. While I was thinking I failed to notice that Benny was tapping on my shoulder. "What is it Benny, I'm thinking?" I asked in him "that guy down there wants to have a spar with you" Benny answered. I looked down at the stage saw that a guy down there with Goodwitch.

"Mr. Rose Mercury Black here would like to have a spar with you" she said hearing that I let out a sigh and went down there. "You seem very unenthusiastic about this" the Mercury guy said. I shrugged my shoulders "sorry if you lose I'd prefer you not hold a grudge and get payback hard on" I said. Mercury just laughed "don't worry I'm not like a lot of the losers here" he said.

"Alright then gentlemen this will be a far match between you two, when one of your auras goes down into the yellow the match will be over and Y/N please don't destroy the stage" Goodwitch said. Mercury laughed again "this should be fun if you get that kind of warning" he said. I don't know why but there was something about this guy that bugged me. Something seemed off about his personality and the way he acted.

I would have to take this match a bit more serious and be very careful. With my eyes I could see that his legs held his weapons they were prosthetics that were a little less advance then my arm or my team's. When Goodwitch gave the signal for the match to begin Mercury came charging at me and jumped into the air. My arm transformed into a whip as Mercury fired his weapons I activated the blades and cut the bullets to pieces.

From the start I knew he was holding back this wasn't the best that he could do. His eyes were on my arm at all times he was studying me. If he wanted a lesson about my arm then I would give it to him. I returned my whip back to normal and waited for Mercury to attack again. Like I expected he came at me again I swung my whip at him but he jumped in the air. I had planned this and by altering my body I quickly took to the air and grabbed him by the head.
