Chapter 2: Fateful Encounter

I walked into the dust shop Dust Till Dawn I wanted to buy some dust so I could test and see if I could add dust to my weapons. I walked around until I bumped into a young girl she had on a red and black cloak. "I am very sorry" I said apologizing to the girl "oh no I'm the one at fault" she said. I looked at the girl she had familiar red and black hair with silver eyes. She looked very very familiar it couldn't be her I mean it she looked like  Ruby. The girl herself was looking at me weirdly like she knew me. "Hey nice arm pal give it to me" a man said I turned to see a masked figure pointing a gun at me. The girl pulled out her scythe I pointed my hand at the guy then turned it into a it's gun form. The person trying to mug us was a White Fang member he wasn't alone along with other White Fang members was Roman Torchwick.

When he noticed us the girl nocked out another White Fang member. "Well if it isn't Ethan Clark's failed experience" Torchwick said. It bothered me but I couldn't show it "listen we've got to go" Torchwick said destroying the shop's window. With that moment Torchwick ran with his White Fang lackies. The girl was going to go after them but I stopped her "you stay" I told her the girl whined "but I can fight" she replied. I looked at her "I do not care stay put" I said. I readied myself I changed my body so my bones would become lighter so I could run faster.

I ran as fast as I could I picked up Torchwick's sent along with the sent of other people. I chased the sent down until I came across Torchwick atop a bulkhead trying to leave. He noticed me show up "well if it isn't the failed experiment again I knew you'd show up" Torchwick said. I took a deep breathe "does it get under your skin?" Torchwick asked "no your minor jabs do nothing" I answered. Before I launched myself at the bulkhead I smelt a familiar person I turned around to see the girl from the shop. She appeared behind me with a flutter of petals "man you sure are fast" she said.

"Wow I sure do feel important" Torchwick said I sighed "I told you to stay put" I said to the girl "well sorry but I'm a hunter in training and also your not my dad so I kind of don't have to listen to you" the girl responded. She started to irritate me some "listen you two I would love to stay and chat but I have to go" Torchwick said. "Your not going anywhere" I said I pointed my arm at him and turned it into it's railgun form. The girl became amazed at my arm "oh my gosh your arm is weapon that is so cool" she said. "Listen you two as much as I want to stay but I kind of got to go" Torchwick said again I fired a shot but a person in a grimm mask redirected the attack. Roman threw a red dust crystal at us I used my eyes I saw it was an explosive one.

"Have a blast you two" Torchwick said I acted fast I grabbed the girl with my other arm and held her tight then with my other arm I formed my shield. I knew the shield would block the force but the flames would hit the girl. With no other option I altered my body so I would become fire proof then I used my nano machines to come out of my body and cover the girl keeping her safe. Luckily my plan worked out and the girl was safe. What happened next was that right as Torchwick was going to leave I saw Glynda show up. Before she could stop Torchwick from leaving they teleported away. I deactivated my arm and took my nano machines off of the girl Glynda can over to us. "You two are coming with me" Glynda said to us I could sense some excitement and nervousness coming from the girl.

Time Skip

Glynda took the girl and I to a police station to “interrogate” us. She sat us down in a room and began to lay in to us. "Do you two know how dangerous it was to go after a known criminal like that?" Glynda asked. Glynda looked at me "I didn't expect this coming from you Y/N" Glynda said to me. The girl had that familiar look on her face when Glynda said my name. "But I will say that normally I'd let you both go with a warning..." Glynda said the girl had a hopeful look on her face as Glynda said that "and a slap on the wrist" Glynda finished slapping her riding crop on her hand. The girl gulped when Glynda did that it was a useful technique for interrogating people.

Before Glynda could continue Ozpin came into the room getting her attention. The two of them talked in private I didn't want to use my enhanced hearing to ease drop. After the two of them finished talking Glynda got irritated "sir please come on" she said "Glynda" Ozpin said. Glynda left reluctantly left the room leaving Ozpin alone with the girl and I.

"It's a surprise to see you here Y/N" Ozpin said "yeah same to you Oz" I replied. The girl looked at Ozpin with amazement "Ruby Rose you have sliver eyes" Ozpin said. When he said that name I had flashbacks of when I was younger when Ruby would take care of me. I spaced a bit "are you okay Y/N?" Ozpin asked "uh yeah I'm okay" I said shaking my head. "Do you know who I am?" Ozpin asked Ruby "your Ozpin headmaster of Beacon academy" Ruby answered. Ozpin placed a plate of cookies on the table and instantly Ruby began to devour them. "So tell me why a girl like you would be using a big weapon like that, who taught you how to use it?" Ozpin asked. She stopped eating the said "myuncleQrowtaughtmehowto" you could barely understand her because her mouth was full.

Ruby then swallowed the cookies in her mouth she tried to answer again. "My uncle Qrow taught me how to use my scythe at first I was garbage but with his training I was like kapo kapo" Ruby said making karate sounds. Ozpin looked at Ruby with intrigue "now why do you want to be a hunteress?" Ozpin asked Ruby. Without hesitation Ruby answered "well you see I know the police protect people but I want to do more I want to be able to protect people like my older brother who disappeared so I figure becoming a hunteress is the way to go". Ozpin smiled then he looked at me "now tell me Y/N why do you want to be a hunter?" he asked me. I looked at my metallic arm then clenched my fist "so people like me don't suffer so I can be better then the ones who came before me" I answered.

Ozpin looked at both of us "Ruby Rose how would you like to come to my school?" he asked Ruby. She had stars in her eyes "yesyesyes" she said then she collected herself "yes I would like to go to Beacon" she said. Next Ozpin looked at me "Y/N I know you've been asking a lot so do you want to join Beacon?" He asked. "Yes" I answered "it's not like I don't already hang out there as it is" I added.

Time Skip

I stood outside the station waiting for Glynda to show up when I felt a slight tug on my jacket. I turned to see Ruby looking up at me. "Excuse me Y/N" she said "yes miss Rose?" I asked call "please call me Ruby" she said. She looked like she hadn't changed at all I saw an image of her as a child. "Um Y/N" she said "yes?" I asked "do you know who I am?" she asked. I wanted to tell her that I did that she was my little sister but I felt like it wasn't the right time yet. "No I don't know I just met you today" I answered that caused her to have a sad look on her face. "Well I'm sorry for asking" she said "no problem see you later" I said walking away.

A/N: Hey guys it's been three weeks now which means I will release chapters on a schedule. I am still waiting for the decision on the team type while Blake is the love interest as of today. As always thank you for reading and I will see you all later
