Chapter 23: Coming Together

Ozpin's Office

We see Ozpin and Goodwitch talking to each other about James Ironwood and his Atlas fleet outside of Vale. While he is the headmaster of Atlas academy he is also the general of the Atlas military. "He has a habit of bringing them everywhere he goes doesn't he" Goodwitch says. "That is true Glynda it makes him feel safe or something of that matter" Ozpin replies.

Soon Ironwood enters the office Goodwitch takes this moment to leave the two alone. "I will see you later Ozpin" Goodwitch says leaving abruptly. "I see she hasn't changed much, still dislikes me" Ironwood says. "She's been like that for some time now hasn't she" Ozpin says.

"Listen James I do have my concerns about you brining your military here outside of my school" Ozpin tells Ironwood. "Listen Ozpin I hear your concerns that's why I brought them here" Ironwood says. "Listen James we are living in time of peace and a show of power may bring concerns to people and worry them, I don't want people getting the wrong impression especially with the Vytal festival coming up an actual sign of peace between the nations" Ozpin explains to Ironwood.

"You remember Qrow Branwen's warning, there is also now a group has emerged stealing my military's tech and these new grimm showing up covered in it" Ironwood says. "If what Qrow says is true then it should be dealt with tactfully, also the Hand of Creation hasn't killed anyone all they are doing is stealing tech they will eventually be dealt with and as for the new grimm my students have found ways of dealing with them" Ozpin responds.

"Ah yes Y/N Rose, I heard what he's been doing to the grimm absorbing their weapons while also upgrading his own, I heard he used our liquid metal to upgrade his railgun, his nano machines are evolving everyday how long do you think he'll be able to be controlled or keep his humanity?" Ironwood asked Ozpin.

"I have faith in the boy yes he is getting stronger everyday, he has learned to deal with his sister being here and he has even made friends, he is growing as a person and as a hunter" Ozpin answered. Ironwood sighed "how long do you think that will last you and I both know who is most likely going to come and that might be his boiling point and he may have to be put down" Ironwood says.

Ozpin sighs "you are right about that James but I have a feeling Y/N's team and friends will help him" Ozpin says. Ironwood walks towards the door "do you think your students are ready for what is coming are they soldiers because there will be a war, Y/N will be necessary for that war he is the future of mankind" Ironwood says before leaving the office. "My hopes are they will never have to be, I want them all to be normal students and I don't want them to go through anything that will kill them" Ozpin says to himself

Library

In the school library we see Ruby, her team and her brother is playing Remnant: The Game. Jaune and his team are sitting at a table nearby reading books. Y/N's team are also Benny is reading a cook book, Chris is reading a comic and Rider is reading a book about war. Jaune decides to go over to where the game is being played and asks Ruby if he can join them.

"Sorry Jaune but we already have four players" Ruby says "that's okay he take my spot I have things I need to take care of" Y/N says sitting up. "Thanks Y/N" Jaune says taking his spot. Weiss and Jaune have some back and forth banter before suddenly he reveals that Weiss had told team JNPR Blake was a faunus much to Blake's discontent. "Come on Weiss seriously didn't you promise Blake that she would be the one to tell everyone?" Y/N asked.

"It's not my fault this weasel kept talking and confusing me it just came out" Weiss said. "It's alright Y/N I'm over it already it isn't a big problem" Blake said. "If you say so Blake" Y/N says walking away from the table. Soon Sun arrives with his friend Neptune. Sun introduces Neptune to everyone. Neptune flirtatiously introduced himself to Weiss. Rider shot Neptune in the back of a head with a rubber band. "Didn't you read the sign no flirting allowed" Rider said.
