Z̶o̶n̶e̶:̶ 🇺 🇳 🇰 🇳 🇴 🇼 🇳Juliet heard that sound way too many times, but it was mostly far off into the the distance, but now, it was right here, where she was. Quickly she turned around with her eyes widened seeing it really was a hunter. Hunters were always big and broad, bumps and puss filled blisters made them that way. After the loud roar, growling was heard from practically all directions now. The ones who could run, clearly were sprinting their way towards the calling.
A couple more Hunters appeared from the woods, and that's included Mockers, and Lurkers, since the Growlers couldn't run, Tom was pretty sure that were headed towards them. Unlike the hunters, the rest of them could see, and what they saw was four delicious meals. "Run! Hurry up! This way!" The girl shouted, taking out her bow and arrow, quickly releasing a couple. The arrows going straight into the head, killing them instantly, clearing a path for the boy and his dog.
Before running towards the girl, he shot a couple, but they just kept of coming. The direction that Juliet had been walking in was clear, way better than what was chasing them. The two teenagers and their dogs ran and ran, their life really did depend on it, and none of them felt like being torn to pieces by a hoard of revenants today. The such a brutal death in mind, they picked up the speed.
That clear path on the street ahead of them wasn't so clear anymore. They started coming from that direction too. "Shit." Tom cursed immediately stopping to look around, trying to see anywhere they could go. He knew he said he didn't want to take any chances with her, but he really didn't have a choice at the moment. Taking out her gun, she shot any that were near by, but they we're getting closer. The snarling sounds they were making made both of them anxious.
Being around small stores seemed to work in their favor, but one in particular caught his eye. It looked safe, and it would be hard for them to break through if anything got worse. It probably used to be an old repair place for cars. "There! In the garage. Cover me while I try to get it open." He said, and the two quickly made their way towards it. As Tom kneeled down, Juliet began to shoot at the monsters that were starting to get closer.
Sumo and Daisy started to join in on the fight as well, knocking down any revenant that got too close, knocking them on the floor and biting down of their skull. "Hey, can you maybe hurry up? They're getting closer." She said in a panic, quickly reloading. "Yeah, I know. I'm trying." Tom responded with a struggle as he was able to lift up the large sliding piece of metal, not all the way though, only enough for a person to slide through.
It wasn't a nice feeling on his arms or the palms of his hands. Letting out a grunt, he spoke. "Get under, quick." Taking off her backpack, she slid it under first then she rolled under with urgency. Sumo and Daisy following right afterwards. Juliet knew she wouldn't be able to hold the garage door up, to she found the chains that were to open and close it.
Practically putting all her weight to pull it opened, Tom let go and did the same thing, backpack first, and then himself. Feeling something grab his foot, but that was short lived since Juliet let go of the chains, allowing the garage door to shut quickly with force. "Thanks." Tom said out of breath, and panting like there was no tomorrow.
The sound of the revenants pounding and wailing at the metal door in the outside was all they could hear.
After getting up from the cold concreted floor, Juliet pointed down. "You have a little something on your shoe..." looking down, it was definitely on the the revenants hands, it must've gotten chopped off when she closed the garage door. Quickly shaking it off, it fell to the floor with ease making them both cringe at the noise.Grabbing his backpack from off the floor, he made his way to Sumo, giving him a pat on the head. "You have a camp or anything?" Tom questioned, looking over at her as she stood there not really knowing what to do. "No, it's just me and Daisy. If I did I wouldn't even be here right now." Juliet answered "how about you?" She questioned, Tom just shook his head and looked down at the floor.
"No, I don't." He said quietly. Taking a moment to fully look at him, she noticed his bag had a blue marking, his gun and holster had one too. "You're zone blue?" She questioned with a hint of suspicion.
Looking down at his gun, it was pretty obvious. "Was from their, I left." He told her, putting his gun away and closing up his backpack. She just looked at him for a while, not really knowing that to think. Zone Blue was a bit notorious for being downright cruel. Without a word, she grabbed her bag as well, going on the other end of garage, sitting down on the floor in the corner. Daisy making her way to Juliet, circling around a certain spot before laying down.
Watching Juliet just look down at the floor, he thought of what else to say. She seemed pretty spooked at the fact that he was from zone blue, but who could blame her. "You know you could've ran, when the revenants came, but you didn't..." Tom acknowledged, taking a seat on top of an old counter. "Well we're on the same team." She said with a shrug of her shoulders. "And what team would that be?"
"I don't know...the alive one." Juliet answered with a weak smile. "I'm Tom by the way, and that's Sumo." He greeted, he hadn't really greeted anyone in a long time, unless it was with a couple of bullets. "Juliet, and Daisy." The girl greeted back. Daisy, such a practically sweet name for something so deadly and fierce, maybe the same could be said for the owner.
Getting up from her spot, she made her way towards a door that probably lead to the shop inside. "It's locked, I already tried it." Tom advised, his head turning over to her. Putting her backpack on the floor next to her feet she grabbed an old bar of cereal that was probably expired and tossed it to Tom. Quickly he caught it and got up from his seat on the counter.
"You bite it first." He said giving it back to her. She just looked at him with confusion "what?" Juliet questioned "you think I'm trying to poison you or something?" Taking the bar from his hand she opened it. Sure he could be a bit paranoid at times, but that's just how the world made him. "Maybe, I don't know..." he said with a shrug. Letting out a sigh, she took a bite, hearing the slight crunch while she chewed.
"Now it's not that good, but I can assure you it's not poison." She spoke with her mouth full, forcing herself to push the remainder of the food down. It was food, so he took what he could get. Tom had no idea why she was being so nice, she kinda saved him, and now she was giving him food even when she knew he didn't trust her all that much. This would've earned anyone's trust but, it was hard to
persuade Tom. "Thanks..." he said after she gave the bar back. They were gong to be stuck in here for a while.
