For felafelnumber6 , ofc I'm still continuing this story so far I have up to chapter 40 in drafts :) thank you for reading <3
Tom was really expecting to wake up and see Juliet right in front of him, but she wasn't there. Although he didn't get worried until he had looked around the house, calling out for her, checking every room and even the back yard. For a moment, he thought that maybe she had left for good, but Daisy was here, and she treated that dog like it was her own child, there was no way she was leaving without her long time companion.
"She took my fucking gun." Tom complained to himself as he looked down at the table where his guns all placed out. He didn't bother putting them all away last night, he figured he could do it before they left. But who knows how long it would be now, Tom had to wait for her. He figured it would be best if he waited here, he knew she would come back, but there was no use looking around because then they would both just end up looking for each other around the neighborhood. He just wished that he knew where she was going and what she was doing.
Who knows, maybe she went out just for a little walk, just to think about things. Although Tom wasn't sure on what things she would be thinking about, probably about last night. He didn't want to worry, but there was a reason why she had taken his rifle. "I bet you know where she went..." he told Daisy, sitting down on the chair very lazily, just sharpening his knife to pass the time. Tom just hoped she was alright and she came back in one piece.
Hearing the wiggle of the doorknob, their heads turned to look down the short hallway, he knew it was Juliet, if it wasn't, the dogs would've been barking by now. "Where were you?" Tom questioned with slight annoyance getting up from his seat and walking towards her, hearing the gentle sound of her closing the door. It didn't take long to notice some of the blood on her new clothes, he wondered if it was hers, but he knew better. They hadn't split up at all since she tagged along, not once, so he was pretty worried not to find her there with him.
"I'm sorry I should've woken you up." Juliet apologized. "Yeah, you should've." Tom told her grabbing his gun and taking it from her. "You can't just be doing that." He added as he began walking back to the kitchen table. "Taking your rifle? You don't use it, plus you always let me hold it." The girl had just assumed he was talking about that, following him into the kitchen, hearing him let out a sigh, Tom looked down at his shoes and closed his eyes trying to find the right words to say to express what he really meant.
"No, not about the stupid rifle. About fucking running off without telling me where, or a-at least writing a note." He explained trying not to get too into it. "Sorry, it just happened so fast, I just really didn't think about it." It was true, it was a spur of the moment type of decision, she didn't think should would get the opportunity to follow the bandits again so she decided to take it. "Where did you go?" Tom questioned again. "To go follow that truck." Juliet finally answered already knowing what they had talked about yesterday before they even settled down in the house.
