"Look McKay, houses, houses and more houses." Juliet said looking around as they passed through a neighborhood, streets intersecting, cars and signs every as well as comfortable old houses. It was probably their last little town before making their way to the state of Texas. In means of getting through this hot and absolutely dry state, she wanted to celebrate, that was if Tom would be up for the challenge. She knew he could be a real control freak at times, and always wanted something a certain way.
"Yeah I see that." Tom bluntly responded, all theses houses weren't hard to miss. "We should rest here now, just this once." The girl begged as she began to walk ahead of him. He had a feeling that she was going to ask him that. He didn't like doing that, they never stopped when they didn't have to. "No." Tom said with a shake of his head, glaring down at her as she watched her walk backwards.
He was surprised that everything was normal. By that he meant about yesterday, he figured after everything this would be weird. He did see her naked, while that didn't seem bothered him, he was still expecting her to act weird, he was expecting the same from himself as well. Tom wasn't bothered by it or anything, it just made him think about certain things, he knew he liked her a little, but now he thinking stuff beyond a little innocent crush. "Please? Why not?" She questioned.
"It can be a little treat for us, we've been walking forever and this place is kinda boring." Juliet added trying to persuade him. But in his eyes, they didn't need it, it would just hold them back. "Didn't we take a brake yesterday? We went swimming at the river." He reminded her. "We had to find a river, we were literally dying of dehydration." Juliet pointed out, and that was indeed true, it wouldn't be a break if it was something they had to do. Tom could see why she would think like that.
"Just figured it would be nice..." she added, to him it sounded like she was finally dropping the whole house oredeal. While he was happy she got quiet once again, he felt bad. Thinking about it more, he figured it would be nice, just this once. Where they could finally relax, and it would be cozy. He even thought maybe they could talk a little bit more, but of course he was just being dumb. "You're the most annoying person I've ever met." He told her while he shook his head.
From the way he said it, she could maybe feel he was giving into her idea. "I'm the only person you know." Juliet stated with a small laugh, that was indeed true, and he was beginning to get used to that fact more and more, it seemed he was getting used to it every single day. "Still, you beat every person I've come across. Even the ones that try to kill me." Tom commented as he looked down at her. "So...can we stay, just for this day and a little while tomorrow..."
"Fine." Tom said with a sigh, a small smile creeping up on his face. "But I get to pick the house." He added and all she did was nod, she would let him pick anything since this was all she wanted. "Oh what should we do? We should see if they have old games hidden, or some drinks. Wouldn't that be fun?" The girl suggested practically skipping down the road, looking at different houses on her left and right. "One more thing...no games. This is just to rest, and that's what I'm gonna do, just relax."
