2 hours till Dallas
The fast movement of the now moving car made her a bit more aware than her sleeping self. Turned on her side, laying on the back seats of the car, her tired eyes opened and looked up at the window. All she saw was whooshing right past her, maybe it was buildings or trees, she couldn't really tell. The motion was making her stomach sick, and her head ache with a throbbing pain. Even with her pain, she pushed herself to wake up.
Now sitting up, she looked around silently, holding her head in her hand. Obviously Juliet had caught Toms attention, causing him to glance back at her, a relived smile on his face. Even with the smile on his face, his eyes looked worrried and concerned which did warm her heart. "How do you feel?" He questioned, looking back at her a couple of times. Looking around her surroundings and lifting up a part of her shirt to check the wound, she shrugged her shoulders. "In pain, but can't do anything about it. At least it's somewhat clean."
"Aren't you going to sleep?" Juliet questioned, carefully leaning over to the front, peeking at his hands thag we're on the steering wheel. "No, I don't think so, we can make it. I just want to get in quickly." Tom told her, he didn't want to rest, he was just looking forward for everything at the moment, there was no way he could sleep. Juliet could very much understand his excitement and his eagerness to make this a non stop journey, but rest was well needed. Although, this was his family he was thinking about.
So with that in mind, she didn't want to be so demanding or scolding, maybe just remind him. "Are you sure? We can stop, or I can drive." Juliet offered, now scooting over to sit behind Toms seat, instead of the middle, her head resting on the frame of the soft drivers seat, right next to him. Sure she was hurting right now, but she didn't mind staying up and doing this for him, it was the least she could do. "No, you're too hurt to drive. I can do it, you just need to rest and get better." Tom told her, moving his head slightly back to look at her.
"What about you?" She asked, Tom could clearly make out the hesitation and the sweetness of her voice. It made his chest warm knowing that she was concerned with him, just like he was with her. "Don't worry about me, I just want to get there as fast as possible. It's a couple hours away now." He informed with a small smile on his face. "Are you sure you feel fine?" He quizzed, wanting to change the subject. Touching her wrapped up wound, she winced a bit, but shook it off.
It burned like hell, but she felt more awake which let her to believe that maybe the bleeding had lessened over the time. She knew she would have to clean it again, but that would have to wait. "Yeah, I'm alright, considering the circumstances." At least she wasn't dead, that was the only thing she thought about. "Are you sure you feel fine?" Juliet mocked about the whole driving thing. Now with the topic back to that he let out a light chuckle and shook his head playfully. "I'm sure. Just go back to sleep."
"Well I thought you were going to sleep with me." She said very nonchalantly, but it didn't seem like that to Tom, it seemed like a bit more to him. Now she could've meant just sleep at the same time, but Tom was starting to rethink, maybe she had meant them being really close, like the other time in the car. "I said that was a maybe." Tom told her, which was true. She must have really wanted to rest with him if she had asked about it earlier, and just now brought it up again. And she did, he comforted her, more so than ever today. "Fine, you're right."
