Sequel: Chapter 15
May 16....same day...
HARRY'S POV
There are eight words that can describe everything.
One...Lexi. Two...Innocence. Three...Power. Four.... Fate. Five....Destiny. Six...Love. Seven...Death...
Eight...Sacrifice.
Her innocence. Her power. Her fate. Her destiny. Her love...
My death and my sacrifice.
I never thought I would die so young, but then again, there's a lot of things I never thought would happen that happened.
I especially never imagined finding someone like Lexi, and I never imagined I would have to leave her after so little time together.
The pain I felt was almost unbearable but it was nothing compared to the pain I would have felt if Lexi was in my place.
I opened my eyes, to see Lexi crying hysterically over me.
I didn't want our last moments to be like this, but by the looks of it, I knew there was no way she was going to calm down any time soon, so I made do with what I had.
I told her how she was going to live a long happy life now, and do all the things she said she wanted to do, but this only made her cry harder so I did my best to calm her down.
I felt myself getting weaker with each second that ticked by. The last thing I heard was Lexi's voice telling me she loved me and the last thing I saw was Lexi's beautiful face.
You know how people say that just before you die your whole life flashes before your very eyes? Well, it does. My entire life washed through my mind like rain washes away the dust of the desert.
And my entire existence, my entire life...my rain, was Lexi.
I don't know how much time passed, before I felt someone's warm lips pressed against mine, and I didn't have to see to know it was Lexi. I kissed her back and she pulled away and smiled at me, as tears of joy spilled down her cheeks.
I sat up on my elbows and she pulled me into a long tight hug. We sat like that for a long time until Bridgett spoke up "Ugh, guys... Harry's okay now, why don't we worry about Merle!"
We broke apart and quickly helped each other up, I turned to Caroline and instinctively pulled Lexi into my side.
Caroline was changing, not transforming, but changing. Her color was changing between black and white and she was folded in upon herself like she was trying to hold herself together.
Then the strangest thing I have ever seen in my entire life happened and I’ve seen some strange things…
A bright, intense light erupted from Caroline, completely blinding me. I turned, shielded my eyes and tried to see what was happening. I could faintly make out Caroline’s outline, her wings were shrinking back into her body, one was black…and the other was entirely white. Caroline collapsed onto her knees, with her hands pressed tightly against her chest and her head bowed down.
She looked up and looked to Lexi, guilt completely consumed in her eyes. I blinked for a split second and when I opened them Caroline was gone, along with the light.
Lexi was the first to move, and before I could stop her she dashed forward to the very spot Caroline had once been standing.
She bent down and picked up something out of the snow. I met her as she stood up, holding a small round stone in her hand. But this wasn’t just any stone, I had seen this type of stone before. This stone fit perfectly in Lexi’s palm, it was round and black and white. This was a yin and yang stone, the symbol that stood for balance…balance between good and evil to be exact.
