Chapter 12

May 26

Lexi’s POV

When I got up this morning, the men that the boys had sent were patiently waiting for Kayla and I to wake up. I had my friend, Cory meet us there that morning as well, despite what the boys said, I wanted someone else there with me to help me keep an eye out for Kayla. So when we were ready Cory wheeled me out and we were taken home where I was finally able to walk around on my own.

“Home sweet home,” I sighed.

“Do you need us to help you with anything?” asked Nathan, one of the three burly body guards the boys had ordered to 'protect' us. He was about thirty or so and had a deep voice and wide shoulders,  all three of them were like that.

“No I’m good, I’m just gonna go take a shower. Can you just keep an eye out for Kayla?” I asked him.

“Sure, no problem.”

I looked to Cory as well and he nodded her head, knowing exactly what I was thinking.

“Okay well make yourself at home, and if it’s not too much trouble, could you throw out any of the food in the fridge that’s gone bad?”

“Of course.” He replied.

"I'll help you with that," Cory added as the two of them walked off into the kitchen.

I headed into the bathroom and slowly started taking everything off. It was still so incredibly painful to move, of course I never let anyone else see that. When I got out of the shower I changed into my sweats and a plain t-shirt and walked into the living room, where all five of them were huddled on the couch, watching T.V. and eating popcorn like they were little kids at a sleepover. Kayla seemed to be able to get her way in anything, and it was as if she could get anyone to do anything she wanted. The child was that cute and that sweet.

When they heard me come in Kayla yelled at me excitedly: “Bunny! Hurry the boys are about to come on for their interview!”

I walked over to the loveseat and plopped down and Cory followed me over and sat down next to me.

“Okay, lovely viewers! We have a special guest for you this evening!” The host announced. “Let’s give a warm welcome to One Direction!” The audience cheered and the boy walked in like celebrities...which they were and that was something I forgot all too often.

“This is their first interview since the terrible accident at their last concert. Now boys, would you like to tell us a little bit about that?” She asked.

“Well what would you like to know?” Harry asked.

“Niall, what was going through your mind at that moment that made you jump off the stage?” She asked, addressing Niall.

“Well… I didn’t even know this girl and she had just taken a bullet for me and for her sister, she saved both of our lives and I just stood there through out the whole bloody scene, like an idiot. I mean I saw the girl holding the gun and aiming it at my head and I just stood there... I don’t know what made me jump off that stage, but I’m glad I did.” He said.

“It may have been the most idiotic thing he's ever done, but I’m glad he did it too.” Liam said. “The doctors who performed Lexi's surgery told us that if Niall and Zayn hadn’t acted so quickly, Lexi might have bled out.” He finished, giving looks of appreciation to Niall and Zayn.

“I’m sorry, who’s Lexi?” She asked.

“ She's the most incredibly beautiful, amazing and caring girl I have ever met.” Harry said.
