Chapter 11
May 25
Liam’s POV
We had visited Lexi and Kayla every single day since the day they arrived in the hospital, twelve days ago and tomorrow was going to be the first day we wouldn’t be able to see them since we had an interview three hours away.
We were leaving early tomorrow morning and wouldn’t be back until the next day. None of us were too happy about that, it was wierd, after leaving them for just an hour I would miss them. Kayla was so funny and sweet and Alexis was… well she is hard to describe.
She was just so beautiful, so gentle, understanding, so caring and loving. I knew she liked us too because she bought all of our songs and her and Kayla listened to us whenever we weren’t there, which wasn’t very often and they always sent us pictures of whatever they were doing while we were away.
Not to mention that all of the boys acted differently around her too, even I did, but not in a bad way. Louis was especially dorky around her, Zayn was especially silly, and she calmed me down, and made me feel more relaxed, so even I got a little wilder with her.
Niall and Harry showed the biggest differences around her. Niall still ate constantly, but when he did, he was entirely focused on Alexis. And Harry, though still extremely cheeky, was a lot calmer around her, and strangely sensitive, which wasn’t like him at all.
I knew we all had grown to care for them, love them even and I knew leaving them in three months was going to be hard, leaving for one day was hard and we hadn't even left yet.
Our love for them wasn't the only reason we were so reluctant to leave them...There had yet to be any news about the vulture girl, and the paparazzi that hung out around the hospital had finally dispersed which meant less people to keep an eye out for her.
Later when we arrived at the hospital the first thing we saw was Alexis and Kayla playing around in the wheelchairs like puppies who just got let off their leash in a dog park. Kayla had no need to be in a wheelchair other than the fact that the child had a need for fun and a need to keep her sister happy, and since Lexi was still confined to a wheelchair, to Kayla it meant that she was too.
Kayla was the first of the two to see us and when she did she got up out of her wheel chair and sprinted to us as fast as her little legs could carry her. I was in front so she ran into my arms first and I picked her up and spun her around with me. “Hi Leeyum!” She said excitedly.
“Hey munchkin, how are you?” I asked, when I set her back down.
“Geewwd!” She said entusiastically, as she ran off to give everyone else hugs.
I saw Alexis slowly stand up from her wheelchair, so she could greet us as well and worry immediatly hit me as I saw her struggle.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa! Sit back down!” I scolded her, as I ran up to her.
“But Leeeyum!” She said mocking me and shaking her head.
“Sorry love, Doc’s orders.” I told her and she reluctantly sat back down, but not before giving me a fiesty scowl, and even with that face she couldn't look mean.
I started wheeling her over to the others when she started yelling my name. “Liam, Liam! Wait!”
“What?” I asked her as I slowed her to a stop.
“I just wanna mess with Zayn a lil, just play along. Kay?”
“Sure.” I laughed, knowing it wouldn’t be anything too serious so I started wheeling her over again.
