Chapter 25

HARRY’S POV

December 18…same day….

Lexi quietly sank bank down into her chair and sobbed into her hands. She was mumbling something that sounded something like “If this is a joke, it’s not funny, I’m not laughing, it’s not funny”

I picked her up and cradled her in my lap and she wrapped her arms around my neck and cried into my sweatshirt. I tried to sooth her, but it didn’t help that the boys were yelling at the top of their lungs.

“You do realize you’re crazy right?!” Liam shouted.

“So, lemme get this straight, you’re telling me that you belong to some order called the Friedhelm, you’re our what? Our trainer? And you’re gonna train us to become part of some army called the Cyneward?! You’re telling me, that Caroline is a demon and the only thing that can stop her is little Lexi?!” Niall barked.

“Yes, oh and Paul knows about everything, he’s a member of the Friedhelm as well, I just thought it would be better if I could explain everything my self” Simon, or Conrad said slowly.

“You are insane! C’mon guys we’re getting outa here!” Louis yelled, grabbing Niall by the arm.

“No! Stop, we need to listen to him! If he’s telling the truth, we need him! We need him to teach us about Caroline! We need to know what to expect the next time she attacks! And most importantly, we need the Cyneward to protect Lexi! If Caroline or Merle or whatever, is really as powerful as he says she is, we’re going to need them, we can’t protect her on our own!” Kayla shouted at all of them.

She made a good point…Conrad had said that Kayla was a ‘Wise Child’ and despite only being five, I didn’t think he was wrong about that.

But still, everything else was just so weird, how could MY Lexi defeat a demon? She was just one person, one girl, who had been through so much already. She was strong, but I don’t know if she has the strength to defeat a demon. It was so much to ask of her, and I could see her already starting to crack from the pressure of it all as I held her in my arms.

She didn’t deserve this, she was the most amazing, kind and caring girl I had ever met. But maybe that was the reason she had the power to tip the scales and defeat Caroline. Lexi was good, she was pure and if anyone could stop an evil demon, just by being good, it was her.

“Please, I am telling you the truth!” Simon, er, Conrad pleaded.

“Kayla, he’s lying! We gotta get out of here!” Louis yelled back, scooping her up into his arms.

“LOUIS! PUT ME DOWN! Why don’t we talk to Paul first?! Paul knows, he said Paul knows!”

I got up, still holding Lexi and started walking out of the room to find Paul, Kayla was right, I trusted Paul, he would clear this up for us.

“C’mon guys, let’s just go talk to Paul!” I yelled. I glared at Simon as I past him, and Lexi clung to me tighter.

They all ran past me and dashed up the stairs, yelling Paul’s name.

“You can put me down now” Lexi whispered.

“No, I don’t want to” She was shaking and I was scared that if I let her go, she would shatter into a million pieces on the hard wood floor.

I walked into Paul’s room and they were all yelling at him. I took a seat and held Lexi close.

“Paul! You knew the whole time?! You could have told us! Lexi has been in danger this whole time! And you knew exactly who Caroline was and you knew how dangerous she was! How could you let us leave Lexi, at home alone, all those times when she was healing?!” Zayn yelled at him.
