Chapter 29

LEXI’S POV

December 25…1 week after arrival…

“It’s Christmas! It’s Christmas! Everyone wake up! It’s Christmas!” Kayla squealed excitedly.

I opened my eyes and took in my surroundings. We were still in the living room, sleeping on the couch. Niall had his head on my lap and I had mine on Harry’s shoulder.

I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes and sat up straight. Harry woke up too, he yawned and slung his arm across my shoulder, then he saw Niall on my lap, he shoved him off me and Niall fell to the floor.

“What the?!” Niall exclaimed, looking around confused.

Harry smirked and I helped him back up, on the couch. Everyone was awake now, and Kayla dashed off to go get Simon and Paul. She came back with them, and they joined us on the couch, we all started opening our presents, and Caleb and Fidelity (the cook) came out to join us.

Everyone loved all of their gifts, and when we were done we had a wonderful breakfast. We hung out, playing with our gifts for the rest of the morning, and after lunch we decided to head out and go for a little walk, out in the woods. I put on a pair of blue jeans, a black hoodie, and over that I put on one of Harry’s red flannels. I put on my black converse over my double socked feet and headed down.

We walked to the tree line, and walked deeper into the forest. We were messing around and talking, when I heard someone yell.

“Did you hear that?!” I stammered.

“Yeah! Let’s get out of here!” Louis said.

“No, it sounds like someone is being attacked!” I yelled, running towards where I thought it was coming from.

“Lexi! No! It’s a bear!” Liam yelled. He was in front of me and he started dragging me back.

“Liam! Put me down! Please! They need my help!” I pleaded.

He released me and I turned around to go back, but Harry and Louis grabbed my arms. “Lexi! No! It’s not safe!” Harry exclaimed.

I heard someone yell again, this time in pain.

“Harry. Please, I can’t just leave them, please” I blinked and felt a tear slip down my cheek. I turned to the others “Please, we have to do something” I cried.

Harry groaned “Fine! But you’re staying here with Kayla. Kayla, make sure she doesn’t go anywhere. C’mon boys.”

They all grumbled unhappily, but headed off quickly, into the direction the sounds were coming from.

“Thank you! Be careful! I love you!” I called after them.
