Chapter 27

LEXI’S POV

December 21…day after ice skating…

Today was our first training day, we were all outside, and Simon was doing his best to help us with our powers.

There wasn’t really much training I could do with my powers, so Simon just told me to concentrate on making everyone happy. I did that for the entire six hours that we trained. I watched the others of course too, Kayla was practicing turning things invisible, and expanding her force field to greater lengths. Simon had Niall practice trying to heal a little cut on Paul’s hand, with out much success. Liam was doing laps, trying to increase his already insanely fast speed. Zayn was practicing his elasticity ability, and would sometimes come over and sit by me to practice on seeing into the future on command. Louis was using his telekinesis, and trying to improve the distances at which he could control things. Harry was working on controlling his temperature.

Simon worked them hard and at the end of the long session, we all headed in to have dinner, we were all starving.

When dinner was over, it was six o’clock so we all decided to head into the Jacuzzi to relax for a bit.

I got dressed very quickly, in a hot pink bathing suit and dashed down the stairs as fast as I could. I wanted to already be in the tub when the others got there so Harry wouldn’t have another breakdown.

I swam around by myself for no longer than a minute. Harry had come in and was now swimming towards me.

I smiled and expected a light kiss. I got something a little more intense than that, not that I really minded. We made out for a little, and then I heard someone clear their throat. I pushed Harry away and blushed, Liam was standing at the edge of the Jacuzzi.

“Sorry for interrupting” he said, getting in.

“Yeah, you should be” Harry grumbled.

“No, it’s fine” I replied. I shot Harry a look and he just pouted.

A little while later the rest of them showed up and we talked about Christmas, and how excited we all were. We also talked a little bit about Louis’ birthday, he’d be turning twenty-two. He was the oldest of all of them by two years. Liam, Zayn and Niall were all twenty and Harry was nineteen.

“Guys. I really want a puppy” Kayla said randomly.

I looked over to her. We had never had any pets before, you’d think that since I could talk to them, and that my mom was a vet, that we’d have a ton of pets, but we had never had one. Not a dog, cat or even a fish. I guess it was because, my parents knew it’d be really hard on me when they died, since I could really connect with them on such a higher level. We took care of many strays, but none of them ever became pets, and then Kayla was born, and my parents just didn’t want to have to worry about a pet.

 “Leeyum! Get me a puppy for Christmas!” she said excitedly, climbing onto Liam’s lap.

“A puppy? Where am I gonna get a puppy?” he asked.

“Oh, hmm good point” she sighed.

 “I want a puppy too” I blurted.

“Babe, we can’t get a puppy” Harry laughed.

“Why not? Why can’t we get a puppy?! You know, just because the fate of the world rests on my shoulders doesn’t mean I can’t have a puppy! I deserve the right to a normal life!” I exclaimed a little angrily. I was shocked that that just came out of my mouth, I wasn’t one to normally have random outbursts like that. I left that up to Louis.
