Chapter 28

HARRY’S POV

December 21…same day…

Her sniffles slowly subsided and her breathing finally returned to normal. This was too much for her. It wasn’t fair. It just wasn’t fair. She deserved to live in a palace, and be treated like the princess she is. Instead, she’s here, in the middle of nowhere, learning how to defeat an evil demon that shouldn’t even exist in the first place.

Her life wasn’t fair in any way what so ever. First her parents died, then she was shot and almost died, then she got a deadly disease and almost died again. If I could, I would switch places with her in an instant.

It should be anyone but her. She’d never live a normal life, and she was realizing it. Well, if I can help it, I am going to give her the most normal life as possible. I don’t care what it takes, but I am going to fill in those cracks and keep her from breaking, even if it kills me.

LOUIS’ POV

December 24…3 days after truth or dare…

Simon had been working us hard for the past week, but he finally let us have the day off today, since it was Christmas eve, and my birthday.

I woke up this morning to breakfast in bed, and when I went downstairs there was a homemade banner, along with homemade decorations, all along the living room. They  were all  standing in a line, each holding a gift box in their hands.

They sat me down on the couch and crowded around me.

“GIMME! GIMME! GIMME!” I said excitedly.

They all handed me their presents and I opened them hungrily. I loved presents. Everyone got me the perfect gifts, and I could only imagine what they got me for Christmas. I was even more excited for Christmas than I was for my birthday. The boys and I had found Kayla and Lexi the most perfect gift ever.

We finished with the presents and I gave all of them a hug.

“So, what are those little…decorations?” I said, pointing to the little things attached to the ceiling.

Lexi pulled one down and handed it to me, and smiled her beautiful smile.

It was light, and covered in colorful paper, I unwrapped it and found it was a pinecone. “They’re balloons!” Kayla smiled.

“Balloons? Of course they are!” I laughed.

Just then I had an idea. We didn’t have any Christmas decorations around here, not even a tree, so our presents were just lying on the floor in the living room, by the fireplace. The only decorations we had were our socks, hanging over the fireplace, and they were socks, not stockings.

“Guys, this place is so dull! It doesn’t even feel like Christmas around here! We’re surrounded by a forest! Let’s go find ourselves a Christmas tree! I need to get in the Christmas spirit! Christmas is tomorrow!” I exclaimed.
