KAYLA’S POV

June 15 *19 days later… *33 days after the accident…

The boys have spent nearly every single day with us since the accident, and of course they were in the recording studio a lot and they had other little things to attend, they were famous after all, but they always managed to take time out of their busy schedule to come see us.

They always brightened up our day and Lexi always glowed brighter when they were around, but today, not even the boys could cheer her up.

I knew why she was sad, and it was all my fault.

“Hey, munchkin?” Zayn said, as he took a seat next to me on the couch. “Why are you and Lexi so sad today?”

“I’m sad cause Bunny is sad and Bunny is sad because today is her school’s dance…well her old school, she dropped out of school for me. Did you know that? It’s my fault she’s sad,” I explained.

“Today is Lexi’s prom?!”

“Yeah,” I sighed.

“Well you know what?!”

“What?”

Zayn sat there for a while with his thinking face on and then said "We'll give Lexi her very own prom, how about that?"

“Really?!” I squealed in excitement.

“Yes, her senior prom is something she can't miss out on! Go get the boys!” He said.

“What about Lexi?”

“Okay, that’s gonna be up to you, I need you to distract her while we get everything set up. Ohhhh this is gonna be good, I can see everything already coming together.”

“How do I distract her?”

“Go get the boys and I’ll explain,” Zayn told me.

I ran outside to our backyard, where Liam, Louis, Harry, and Niall were playing football and Lexi was lounging in one of the lawn chairs, reading.

“Liam, Louis, Harry, Niall! Zayn needs you inside!” I called to them, then I skipped over to Lex and sat down at her feet, “Hey Lex, whatcha reading?” I asked her.

She took off her reading glasses and showed me the book. “The Hun…ger Games?” I read off.

“Yep. That's pretty good Kayla, you're getting better at this whole reading thing,” she said with a smile.

She started reading it aloud to me but then we heard Louis yell from inside, “Bunny! Bunny! Bunny! Come here!”

“What Lou?” She called back.

“Just come here!” Zayn replied.

“Okay! I’m comin sheesh,” she said, getting up. I followed her inside and crawled onto Louis’ lap. “Yes?” she asked.

“Well, we realized we never really fully thanked you for saving One Direction…” Liam began.

“Woah woah woah! That’s crazy! Where did this even come from? And first of all, Niall and Zayn saved me and Kayla, second of all, you’ve spent every single day with us, making sure we were okay and lastly, you brought us all those gifts the day I woke up! You guys have definitely said thank you enough times!”

“No, we haven’t, we’ll never be able to repay you for what you did,” Niall said.

“Guys! Look, I owe you way more thanks than you owe me, you have done so much for me and Kayla, you don’t even know how much I really appreciate it, and Niall, you know that I am so, so happy that I took that bullet for you, and I would do it all over again if I had to, but it was still an accident. You and Zayn saved me on purpose!” She made a good argument, but the boys still weren’t backing down.
