May 13....same day....one year after accident...

HARRY'S POV

Typical. The fucking demon would live on the world's most dangerous continent.

Lexi would survive but I was pissed. Conrad had said there was no other way. And now Derrick is telling me that I could have killed Caroline all along?!

The boys were pissed as well, even Kayla was mad. She tried to hide it but a fiery anger burned in her little brown eyes.

"So you're telling me we have to go to Antarctica? The coldest place on earth?" Louis gasped.

"If we want to defeat Merle then yes, we do."

"I'm going. And I hope the rest of you are too. Everyone who's in raise their hand." Niall stated.

He raised his hand up at the same time the boys and Kayla raised theirs. And slowly, one by one everyone began raising their hands in the air until not one hand was left. Even the members of the Friedhelm all raised their hands, even Conrad.

"Alright it's settled." Derrick said.

LEXI’S POV

"No. No it's not settled. I can go by myself. Antarctica is the most dangerous place in the world. I don't need all of you getting yourselves killed. I can handle it myself." I announced.

Harry spun me around to face me "Lexi! Are you crazy! You said it yourself! Antarctica is the most dangerous place in the world! There's no way in hell we're letting you go by yourself!" he yelled.

"No, Harry! I can do this by myself! I'll be fine! Derrick said I won't die!"

"No, Lexi you need us. You'd never make it there alive if you went by yourself. The cold alone would kill you. Not to mention you still have to get past the demon. You need us and we're coming with you." Derrick retorted.

"No. I can do this alone."

"Bumny! No! We're coming with you!" Kayla yelled. She ran over to me and I scooped her up in my arms.

"Munchkin-"

"Don't you 'Munchkin' me! We're coming and that's final!"

Harry wrapped his arms around both of us and whispered in my ear "We're doing this together. Just like we always have, whether you like it or not."

I sighed and leaned my forehead against his chest. "Fine." I grumbled.

He sighed in relief and released me. I turned back around and set Kayla down and held her hand. Everyone stared around in silence, unsure of what to do.

"So.... Ugh what do we do now?" Niall asked slowly.

“Oh...uhm right... I guess go back to the mansion? I think Merle is gone... I think we should tell the other members of the Friedhelm and start preparing for the trip. Merle is gone, right Blair?" Conrad said.

"Uhm yeah I think she's gone, But I'm not entirely sure since she doesn't have a heartbeat."

"She's gone." Ashur confirmed. He had the power of echolocation and would be able to sense her.

"Alright...well then, lets go" Derrick said.

We were about to head back when Kayla leaned down in front of me and picked up something from the ground.

She turned around and showed me what it was. It was a single white feather, as white as Leo's fur. "Where did this come from?" I took the feather from her to examine it closer.
