Chapter 34...Part 1 of 2…LAST CHAPTER
CONRAD’S POV
January 26...8 months after Lexi getting shot...day after Lexi defeated Merle/Caroline...
I left Harry's room knowing Lexi wouldn't make it through the night, I wasn’t sure I was positive. There would be a lot to deal with now, I had to go to the Friedhelm to deliver the news. I decided that I would do it sooner rather later, and get it over with. I left early this morning, along with Paul. We'd' only be gone for a couple days, we'd be back by January 28. All the members of the Cyneward were supposed to be coming next week to help protect Alexis until she could defeat Merle. I guess it's too late for that, they can focus on destroying the rest of the demons now. The boys and Kayla were all in complete denial over all of this, they really believed she would survive, but I knew better. I wanted to leave them to themselves, give them some time to process everything. I wanted to give them space before discussing what we were going to tell people, and before we started discussing the funeral arrangements.
HARRY’S POV
I woke up, from a loud noise, I looked around but there was no one in here, no one except for the beautiful blonde girl sleeping next to me.
Lexi had her palm on my chest, right over my heart. She was nestled into the crook of my arm, her long wavy hair was sprawled across my arm and the pillow.
She had the sheets tucked in around her but I could feel her warmth through the thin material.
Her lips were parted slightly and her cheeks were perfectly colored. Most importantly, her chest rose and fell with every beautiful breath she took.
She was alive, and she even had a faint glow just like always, she was no longer pale and weak.
Somehow, despite what Conrad had said, despite what the universe said, she survived, just like she always has, just like she always will.
I stared down at her sleeping figure. It really should be illegal for someone to be so beautiful.
I brushed a stray strand of hair from her face and gently tucked it behind her ear. She crinkled her nose and nudged her face against my chest.
Her eyes fluttered open and she squinted against the light coming through the window.
LEXI'S POV
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to wake you up" I heard a deep raspy voice grumble.
I blinked a couple times, and rubbed my eyes.
I sat up and the sheets slipped from my chest. I looked down and gasped, I grabbed the sheet and pulled it up to cover myself.
Harry huffed and sat up next to me. "It's a little too late for that, love" he whispered in my ear.
His morning voice was still thick with sleep, and as sexy as ever.
He wrapped his strong arms around me and I remembered everything that happened yesterday. Every single little detail.
I remember the snowball fight, running off into the woods, Liam getting shot, defeating Caroline...I remember last night with Harry...
My heartbeat rapidly accelerated and my heart pounded against my chest.
I dragged my leg up to my chest and rested my forehead against my knee.
Then the tears started to fall.
Harry tilted my chin up so I had to look up at him. His eyes were so full of love and happiness, but when he saw my tear stained cheeks his expression immediately changed. He looked at me with worry, alarm and sadness in his eyes.
