KABANATA LXXXII

Third Person's POV

Meanwhile, the sun began to peek over the horizon where the sky meets the Grand Orleas River. The waves had calmed a few hours after the battle ended.

With the sun now fully risen, the extent of the fight's damage was clear. Parts of the forest were still ablaze.

Jeremy's army had just reached the tribe's location.

Ngayon lang sila nakarating doon dahil tinapos muna nila ang lahat ng halimaw na nagkalat sa buong pack. Matapos ang nangyaring labanan sa pagitan nila Nymeria at Freda ay bigla na lamang naglaho ang mga ito, maging si Morana.

He had no idea how extensive the damage was until he found himself standing amidst piles of charred and lifeless bodies. He couldn't believe his eyes. Even the knights, trained to remain stoic, couldn't hide the shock on their faces.

"W—What happened h–here..." Hindi makapaniwalang usal niya. Hindi halos maabot ng kanyang paningin ang hangganan ng kagubatang nadamay sa pagkawasak at sunog. Mabilis niya nalang na iniling ang ulo at hinarap ang mga kawal.

"Move now! Rescue anyone still alive! Extinguish all the fires in the forest and... bury all these bodies." He struggled to say the last words, unable to fathom how many lives were lost in just one night.

Fortunately, the council had finally come to their senses. Most notably, the Alpha, who miraculously regained his sanity this morning and is now resting in his room, having faced the truth.

Napag-alaman na ng lahat na nagpapanggap lamang bilang kanilang luna ang demonyong iyon. Ayon sa kwento ng Alpha ay pinagbantaan siya ng mga ito na papatayin ang Luna maging ang anak oras na umayaw siya sa pakikipagkasundo na nais ng dark coven.

Dahil alam ng alpha kung gaano katindi ang magiging impluwensya at kapalit oras na gawin niya iyon ay nagmatigas siya. Sinubukan niyang itakas ang luna at ang kanilang anak na noon ay nasa sinapupunan pa lamang nito. Ngunit hindi iyon nakalusot sa dark coven at nangyari na nga ang hindi nila inaasahan.

Pinatay nito ang kanilang luna upang nakawin ang identidad nito at magpanggap na bagong luna ng kanilang pack. Dahil sa labis na lungkot at sakit ay dinamdam ng masyado ng alpha ang nangyari.

He became vulnerable to those opportunistic demons. When they saw him on the verge of losing his mind, they pushed him further, eventually putting him under a spell of hallucinations where he believed he still had his Luna and their unborn child.

Using Luna's identity and power, the demons gradually took control of the pack—first the council, then the knights, until almost all the powerful beings in the pack were under their influence. Jeremy had no choice but to stand by and let her do as she wished.

Then Nymeria and Morana arrived. They saved the pack from the demon called Freda. Nymeria even sacrificed her life to protect everyone in the mansion when Freda launched a powerful attack.

Hinding-hindi nila makakalimutan ang sakripisyong ginawa nito. Lalong-lalo na si Jeremy, hinding hindi niya na hahayaang maulit pang muli ang nangyaring iyon.

"Narito na ang kanilang pinuno, Beta Jeremy." Usal ng isa sa kanyang kawal na noon ay inutusan niyang dakpin ang pinuno ng tribong sumugod sa tribo nila Nymeria.
