KABANATA CIII

Third Person's POV

The moonlight poured through the small, arched window of Everly's room, casting pale beams across the wooden floor. She lay on her bed, her chest rising and falling in a steady rhythm as she tried to sleep. But peace eluded her.

'Do the universe a favor, don't hide your magic' Iyon ang huling mga salita nito.

Her eyes snapped open, the weight of those words pressing against her heart. A strange unease stirred within her. Everly sat up slowly, her silvery hair cascading down her shoulders, shimmering faintly in the dim light.

That's when it hit her.

The faint trace of dark energy she always felt in the good coven's basement rose to the forefront of her thoughts.

She swung her legs over the side of the bed, her bare feet meeting the cool wooden floor. Wrapping herself in a cloak, she padded silently to the terrace.

The night sky stretched above her, infinite and glittering with stars. It was breathtaking, yet it did little to soothe her growing anxiety. As she leaned on the railing, breathing deeply, her gaze wandered toward the dark expanse of forest in the distance.

Her heart skipped a beat.

A shadow moved among the trees.

Her pulse quickened, her instincts on high alert. Without hesitation, she tightened her cloak around her and moved swiftly, descending from the terrace and heading toward the forest.

The grass was cool and damp beneath her feet as she crossed the plain grassland beyond the pack's territory. The air was heavy with the scent of dew and the faint hum of nocturnal insects. Everly kept her senses sharp, her eyes scanning the darkness for any sign of movement.

Then she saw her.

A woman, clad in a dark cloak, stood motionless, her presence commanding and enigmatic.
