8 - everything I wanted ✦

If I knew it all then would I do it again? Would I do it again?

✦✦✦

Michael groaned the moment he heard loud noises coming from downstairs.

Calum was the last person he wanted to see. He didn't want to hear I told you so or his smug face for a while.

His mum was louder than usual so he covered his face with a pillow.

There was a knock on his door.

Calum never knocked.

"Yeah?"

"Can I come in?"

Michael sat down immediately. "Yeah."

Luke walked in. He had a small but nervous smile. Unlike Michael, he seemed to have showered and put on a fresh pair of clothes.

"Hi," the younger man looked around the room. Michael knew not much has changed, all the posters were there, his old guitar and painting supplies were laying on the table. Then he noticed him looking towards his closet where there used to be a shrine of everything Michael and Luke. Their photos, memorabilia, tickets to Luke's performances, concert tickets.

Michael frowned. "Luke, you shouldn't have come. I don't think my mum will be able to keep a secret from Liz."

"Can I?" He pointed towards the end of the bed and after getting Michael's approval sat down. "It's okay, I've just been to my parent's house."

"Wait? Really?"

Luke nodded.

Only now Michael noticed that the man was crying, his eyes and cheeks still red from the salt.

"How did it go?"

"Good," Luke said. "I think at least. She was mad that I didn't tell her I was home, I was mad that she stopped talking to me. But it's a start."

Michael smiled. "That's good. I'm happy for you."

It's what he wanted for Luke, he knew how close he used to be with his family, and while he didn't know why they stopped talking.

"Now I'm here to talk to you."

They just looked at each other for a moment before Michael spoke up. "We screwed up."

Luke let out a sigh of relief. "I'm so sorry."

He shook his head. "It's both of ours fault and we can both be sorry or just move on."

"I'll need a day but I'll find a room or move in with mum and dad."

Michael raised an eyebrow. "Why do you want to move out?"

"I don't want to ruin this Michael, and what we did yesterday? It's a highway to disaster."

"Luke, we were drunk. We were mad. We have a lot of unresolved feelings and thoughts. You can leave if you want to but I think it'd be stupid. Your parents live so far away from Ashton's dance studio and your work."

Luke didn't look convinced.

"Pinky promise I won't try to kiss you again."

He rolled his eyes but extended his pinky.

Before they were intertwined Luke moved his hand away. "I know we can't fix everything but I want to tell you something. If you'll let me."

Michael patted the space next to him and Luke kicked his shoes off and climbed under the covers.

Just like the old days.

"First off, Calum came around and I told him some things."

"What things?"

"About yesterday and our break up."

At least he didn't have to be the one to tell him.

"I know I told you that nothing was going on between me and Spencer and that nothing happened in London. I don't know if you believe me but that's the truth."

Michael didn't say anything.

"But there was someone, I've met him when I was doing my masters and things got worse so I decided to come home."

"Bad how?" Michael asked, confused.

"Let's just say that he's the reason I haven't finished my masters and why I'm broke."

"Okay," It wasn't as much information as he hoped for but he knew not to press Luke about it. "Are you okay now?"

He nodded. "I'm better. I know you and Ashton are trying to get me to teach more classes and dance more but he was a big part of my dancing life in London. Dancing more makes me happy but it also makes me remember things."

"Was he your teacher?" Michael asked, failing to hide the anger in his voice.

"More like a mentor. It wasn't allowed, our relationship, and it shouldn't have happened. Spencer helped me get enough money so I could return to Sydney."

Michael sighed. Now he couldn't completely hate the man.

But he did hate the man Luke had to escape from.

"I'm a lot better since I've come home and you are a big if not the biggest reason why. If it weren't for you, I probably wouldn't even think about seeing mum for another year."

"If it wasn't for Calum's stag party you mean."

Luke laughed. "I thought I was dreaming when I saw you in the crowd."

"A nightmare."

"Actually, yes. I was so afraid that someone would recognize me before I was ready but it was like you were a sign."

Michael smiled to himself. Eat that, Spencer.

"Thank you for sharing this with me. If you need to talk, I'll be here, okay?"

"Okay," Luke smiled before nudging him with his elbow. "Go and shower. Mum wants you over for dinner."

He knew he still smelled like cum and appreciated that Luke didn't say anything.

But even if he would, it was Luke's cum anyway.
