Luke couldn't understand how Michael could keep some promises but not others.

How can he protect Luke from everything and anything, admit feelings for him and still run away?

In theory, Michael promised he'll be back, he kissed him goodbye but it was three days and he still hasn't returned.

The first day that Michael was gone, Luke busied himself by calling his family and friends to tell them what happened.

Calum offered to beat Sam up, casually forgetting that he was a werewolf.

His family was ready to spend as much money as needed on a good lawyer, making sure nothing and no one could claim Luke, without his consent.

The other half of the time, Luke spent in Michael's bed, in Michael's clothes. He tried to erase what littles have told him. That he smelled like them.

But every second he wanted and missed Michael.

Michael and Ashley went after Sam's trope to make sure they were gone for good.

Or at least until they would decide to drag Luke to court and legally acknowledge him as part of their trope.

Which Karen, Michael, and Ashley promised would only happen over their dead bodies.

Two days after leaving Ashley came back and promised him everything will be okay, that Michael was okay but then she and Karen disappeared into the headmistress' office for hours.

After Ashley left and the littles went to bed, Luke spent the night calling Michael every few minutes before falling asleep with the phone pressed against his cheek.

He woke up hours later when his phone buzzed.

From: Michael

I'm on my way home x

Luke didn't know if that mean he was hours or minutes away.

It was just past four in the morning, but he put some clothes on and went outside. He sat on the hood of Michael's car and waited.

The moon wasn't full but it was bright and Luke wondered why he didn't spend more time outside at night. Then he remembered he preferred kissing Michael under the covers.

To omega's surprise, Michael didn't return as a wolf but with a car. He could hear the engine before he could feel the alpha, but when he did, his entire body lit up in expectation.

And want and need and love.

Also anger.

"Why aren't you asleep?" Michael, who looked even more tired than him, asked.

Luke walked over to kiss him but noticed the frown on alpha's face.

He looked beautiful as always but there was something off.

"Then why are you looking at me like that?" Luke asked defensively. "Is it because I smell like him?"

"What? No." Michael sighed before smiling. "You smell like me."
