Six years later

"Mr. Clifford?"

Luke looked up and smiled. "Neil, come in."

The orange-haired boy walked into his office.

"I told you to call me Luke, you used to call me Luke before."

"You weren't the teacher before," Neil smiled and sat down.

To everyone's surprise, a year ago Neil told everyone he wanted to be a social worker. Because he was an orphan and because he wanted to work with Michael's father, Karen offered him the opportunity to stay here and return for the weekends.

"What are you doing?" Neil asked.

Luke sighed. It was Friday afternoon and he was grading tests much later than he planned on. "I had a fight with Lucas."

The omega huffed. "You, the teacher, had a fight with a teenager?"

"I know," Luke complained. "You see, for him, I'll always be his best friend Luke, and the moment I try to draw a line, he'll try to turn things around and make me the guilty one."

"He's a teenager, Luke."

"Were you guys this bad?" He asked.

"I and Freddie were a mess when we were twelve but Michael started taking us to the woods and it seemed to help. The twins, however..."

Neil's facial expression made Luke laugh.

"A few months before you came, they were constantly fighting. They would ask for a separate room and a few days later, we would find them sleeping in the same bed."

Luke laughed even harder.

"How are they?" He knew how close Neil was to the twins and Freddie and he was always taking Noelle to see her big brother when he could.

"They're fine. Rue started dating and Bea believes no one is good enough for her, while she has a new girlfriend or boyfriend every week. And Freddie is really good, he loves his biology classes, especially anything that has to do with the forest and plants. He also made it to the swim team but he sadly can't compete because he's a wolf so he's, you know faster."

"That does suck," Luke graded the last test. "Did you come here to talk about anything specific?"

"Oh," Neil blushes slightly. "I was hoping to talk to you and Michael."

Luke ignored how he didn't call his husband by his last name.

"Sure, he should be around."

At first, his bond with Michael was all over the place but after years of being together, all Luke had to do was think about his husband and he'd get the feel for where he was.

It was great for situations like this one, but it sucked when Luke was trying to find Michael in a shopping center to surprise him but ended up being surprised himself when he realized the alpha was in a meeting to build them a house.

Luke smiled and looked through the window, Michael probably realized his husband wanted to see him and he was already walking towards the house.
