"Mikey," Luke rubbed his eyes. "What are you doing here?"
"I came to talk." Michael smiled at the sleepy omega.

"What day it is?" Luke asked. He wanted to ask what time it is, but he couldn't completely comprehend what was happening.
The last thing he remembered was taking a nap the day Michael left and he should not return for a few days.
Michael laughed. "It's still Monday. The babies said you took a nap before lunch, it's dinner time now."
He noticed the dark sky outside.
Michael offered him a water bottle. "Do you want to go and eat?"
"No," Luke said sharply, taking both of them by surprise. "No," he said again more calmly. "You came to talk, so talk."
Michael found an energy bar in his bag and handed it to Luke. "You texted me, saying you wanted to talk."
Luke rolled his eyes and didn't return Michael's smile.
"I like you, Michael," the omega said without hesitation. "But whenever something happens between us, whenever I feel the spark, the connection, you move away. Like we're some magnets dancing around each other."
"You like me?" Michael asked, his facial expression unreadable to Luke.
"Of course, I do Michael. You're kind, handsome, funny, you listen, you make everyone feel and know they matter. There's this thing about you that makes me feel calm and I know what you're thinking but you're wrong. I know that during my heat, your scent and presence calms me. But the effect is the same when my wolf isn't there to control my every feeling and emotion."
"But you keep running away and I don't know where we stand." Luke sighed.
"The problem is, I don't know if I should start running faster or if I should stop."
"What would you want me to do?" Michael asked.
"I want you to stop running, Michael."
The alpha didn't look up as he kept staring at his hands and Luke could feel the frustration radiating off him.
"I like you too, Luke," he started. "I'm not as good as you are, at either talking or dissecting my feelings."
"I'm an only child, I'm a wolf, an open book, I didn't need to talk for my parents to know what I wanted. The only person I talked to growing up was Ashley, but she tends to ask millions of questions so speaking without bullet points isn't my strong suit."
He looked at Luke.
"I like you a lot Luke. The reason I keep running or the reason I tell myself is that I need perspective on everything, I can never be spontaneous, I need a schedule and I need safety and you keep ruining that."
Luke frowned but Michael reached for his hand.
"In a good way. You challenge me, you make me laugh, you inspire me by how well you're handling everything that is going on in your life."
