Luke vaguely remembered Michael telling him he usually works from home on Fridays so he wasn't surprised to hear a noise downstairs when he woke up late.

He was dancing the night before and his body was aching, however, he decided to stay later than intended because the crowd was good. And a good crowd meant good money.

After stretching he put his running clothes on. The view from the room was amazing and Luke wanted to go on a run before it'd get too warm. He forgot how winters in Australia corresponded with summer temperatures in London.

When walking down the stairs and just before saying good morning, Luke noticed that the noisemaker wasn't Michael. A stranger was sitting behind the kitchen counter, working on a computer.

The man looked up and raised his eyebrows in confusion. "Oh, hello, I didn't know Michael had visitors." Then he smiled. "I'm Noah, I work with Michael."

The man was muscular, probably a bit shorter than Michael. He was dressed in a pale green suit that didn't look comfortable but looked amazing against his dark skin.

Luke finished the last few steps and smiled. "Hi, I'm Luke."

The look on the man's face changed quickly.

"Is Michael upstairs?"

Luke was confused, he couldn't read the man's facial expressions and he presumed that if he knew where Michael's kitchen was, he'd knew his bedroom was downstairs.

"No, I think he mentioned going to the gym sometime during the day."

"That would make sense," Noah nodded. "He usually leaves his phone in his locker."

Since the man was able to come into Michael's apartment Luke presumed, he knew he was out so he said goodbye before locking the door.

When Luke came back from his run neither Noah nor Michael were there. He showered before leaving for his dance class.

And because he promised Michael, he'll make it to his party he also went to the club after the class. Luke knew working on Fridays was more profitable as many white collars came in after their working week has ended. But he preferred Saturdays when the club was busy and it was easier to be unnoticed.

When he finally made it home at four in the morning all he wanted to do was sleep until the party would begin.

Luke tried not to think too much about what-ifs especially now when he was back in Sydney.

However, sitting in the kitchen talking with Michael while he was cooking and preparing snacks for the party did make him think. What if.
