Michael's point of view
♔♔♔
The sun was starting to set and neither Luke nor Michael spoke a word to each other since they left the castle first thing in the morning.
The younger prince was busy reading his books, following the maps, and asking the carriage driver question about the places they traveled through.
Michael, who knew the answers to all of Luke's questions remained quiet, knowing Luke was mad at him.
Ever since he witnessed the power of Luke's magic, the prince refused to talk to him.
He was not only ignoring Michael but also avoided all the places, Michael could usually find him.
He wasn't at the library or the gardens, he wasn't playing with the puppies and kittens in the stables. And Michael knew better than to show up in Calum's chambers.
Calum told him where things stood, Luke came first and Michael respected that.
Still, Michael didn't know what to do about Luke. How was he supposed to introduce him to people, keep him informed about who to talk to or who to avoid if Luke won't talk to him.
He offered Luke a piece of cake but the prince shook his head.
"I suppose we'll be stopping soon to rest."
Luke huffed.
"What?" Michael asked amused. He knew he was starting to get to him.
"If you'd bother to come to the dinner last night, you'd know when and where we'll be stopping."
"Is this why you're upset with me? I was packing yesterday and writing the last letters before we'd left."
Finally, Luke looked up. "If that's why I'm upset with you?" He was angry. "No, your majesty. I'm not upset, just annoyed that you're talking to me about things I already know."
Michael sighed. "Okay, do you mind telling me the rest of the things you know and I don't?"
"We leave tomorrow after breakfast. Your things will be waiting for you at the castle."
"Not that," Michael said even though he did not know when his wedding clothes would be arriving. "Why are you ignoring me?"
Luke closed his book and stuffed it into his bag.
"That's rich coming from someone who didn't speak to me for the first few weeks of your stay. Who mocked me, who kept sticking his nose in the things that don't revolve around him."
"Oh," Michael replied quietly.
"Yes, Michael, oh." The prince said. "What's worse," he added. "Is that you decided to be nice to me, just when it became convenient for you."
"What? What's that supposed to mean?" It was the opposite, Luke needed his help, that's the entire reason he was here in the first place.
When one of the guards asked if everything was okay, Michael waved him off and Luke lowered his voice.
"You ignored me when I was nice to you, then you find out about my magic and suddenly want to be my friend? Now, I'm better at astronomy than mathematics but I think the equation here is simple."
