Luke placed a finger over his lips before carefully opening Michael's door.
He could see Michael smile as he pretended to sleep.
On his sign, everyone started singing happy birthday and Michael opened his eyes and pretended to be surprised.
He probably heard them the moment they started walking up the stairs. At the end of the day, he was a werewolf and the little wolves were anything but a quiet bunch.
The day before, Luke helped to watch over the little ones when Karen was baking a cake with the teens. The outcome was a collection of pictures of Michael in a bunch of different colors and painting techniques.
"Thank you, guys," The alpha had six kids on his bed, trying to hug them all at once. "Now if anyone wants a piece of the cake you have to be dressed in five minutes, you know what I promised for today."
When the others left the room, Luke realized he wanted a different piece of cake.
Michael stood up and gave Luke a wide grin, "Which of the paintings is yours?"
He rolled his eyes and quickly hugged the birthday boy. "Happy birthday, here."
Luke handed him a small boy.
"Luke," Michael raised an eyebrow. "You know you didn't have to get me anything."
"I know," Luke grinned as he watched him unwrap the box.
"Is this?" Michael laughed. "A dog collar?"
"It's a GPS tracker. And yes," He admitted. "It is for dogs. I thought you could wear it when you go running through the woods. You said you hate making your mum worry and this way, we can know where you are."
Michael pulled Luke into another hug.
"Thank you, Lu."
Luke closed his eyes and breathed in alpha's smell that made him lightheaded.
"Now," Michael put the bracelet on. "Are you coming with us or not?"
"Coming where?" Luke asked.
"We're going to practice turning with the teens. Bea and Rue are ready and the others love to watch."
"I didn't know Rue had an alpha?"
Michael looked at him like he fell from the moon. "Yes, her twin sister Bea."
"Wait, so alpha and omega don't have to be romantically involved?"
"Luke," Michael smiled, his voice was kind even when Luke asked something stupid. "We went over this with Lucas. No, alphas and omegas do not have to be in a romantic relationship. But they can be. Siblings, friends, whatever you want."
Michael grabbed Luke's hand. "Now come on or we'll be late for cake."
When they made it to the forest Michael started talking the twins thought the shift and Luke took the opportunity to call Ashley.
"Hi, Luke. What's up? Did Mikey hate the gift?"
"No," Luke rolled his eyes. Ashley thought it was a stupid idea but she was the one who bought him concert tickets to her own show. "I have a question."
