I let my guard down
And then you pulled the rug
I was getting kinda used to being someone you loved.✦✦✦
"It's your bachelor party, Calum." Michael slowly sipped on his drink that was too strong for someone who didn't drink much. "You're the one that has to have fun."
"You see, that's exactly the reason why I organized my own bachelor party. I know you're my best man but if it'd be up to you, we'd go to a theme park or play video games."
Calum had his tenth drink in his hands and they didn't even arrive at the bar, they were going to. Luckily, he handled his alcohol better than Michael did.
Michael frowned. "And what would be wrong with video games? It's fun and you will be playing much less when you'll be married. Plus, we could still be drinking while playing. Then it'd be mega fun."
The Maori man fondly rolled his eyes. "I know, but I really wanted to go to a strip club. Plus, why would I stop playing video games, Alex loves playing as much as I do."
"She likes to play Sims." Michael corrected him. "And when you're back from your honeymoon you'll adopt five dogs if I remember correctly, you won't have time to play games."
The smiled on his best friend's face was so bright it even made grumpy Michael smile.
"We'll have a gaming evening before I marry, okay?"
"We don't have to," Michael said but didn't really mean it.
Calum insisted. "We will. Now we'll go and eat and then it's party time."
"Party time for you, you mean. I'm not sure I'll enjoy watching pretty girls dance."
"Guess what?" The husband-to-be grinned. "The club we're going to has both girls and boys dancing. So, you'll enjoy it as much as the rest of us will." Then he winked at him. "If not even more."
An hour later he realized Calum was right.
✦
Michael regretted not drinking more when he had the chance.
"Here." Calum pushed a handful of one-dollar bills into his hand. "Please have fun."
His best friend, on the other hand, drunk all the alcohol he could. Michael couldn't blame him; it was his last weekend of being single before getting married.
He knew Calum meant well when he made them go to a strip club that had both male and female dancers. But sitting in front of a stage with a pole in the middle of it, foggy blue lights and loud music made Michael wish he'd be with his friends. Even if it meant watching boobs up close.
The music had changed and the lights became brighter.
Michael felt himself blushing as he looked on the stage.
