"Do you want us to go with you?" Jack asked when he turned off the car.
Luke shook his head. It was bad enough that both of his brothers insisted on driving him to the boarding school, he didn't need them to follow him inside.
"It's fine, thank you for driving me. Text me when you get home and I'll call when I'll have time."
To his dismay, both of them opened their car doors and demanded a hug before they left.
Luke knew somebody was observing them from the orphanage and when he turned around, Michael was walking towards him.
"Hi, mum is busy with the littles so she asked me to show you to your room."
"Thank you," Luke smiled, let the alpha take one of his suitcases, and followed him up the stairs.
The moment they walked into the house they could hear children's voices.
"They're just having breakfast," Michael explained and walked up the stairs. "Did mum show you around the house?"
"Not the entire house," Luke tried to keep up. "I've seen her office and some of the common spaces."
They continued their way to the second floor.
"I'll ask the kids to show their rooms to you. Most of the common spaces and the classrooms are on the ground floor. The first floor is my parent's bedroom and there are a few rooms reserved for staff. Currently, we only have a cook. Also, all of the littles have rooms on the first floor. The second floor is for older kids and other people, meaning me."
"What about other teachers?"
"The last one we had, Ms. Daisy was wonderful with the kids, she was also my teacher, but she retired. And we have less than ten kids, mum and dad are trying to do it on their own. Online lectures also help with that."
"Are there any other reasons?" Luke asked. He wasn't good at it but he could feel a change in Michael's tone and posture when his mood changed.
Since turning, Luke could sense people's moods change from another room.
Michael stopped when they got to the second floor and looked at him. "Ms. Daisy was a wolf so it was natural for her to teach wolves. We had teachers here last year and it wasn't bad it just wasn't the same. The kids can tell if someone is put off by something they do and this should be a safe space for them."
"I understand," Luke nodded.
"This is your room," Luke walked behind Michael into a small room.
It was small but cozy, the walls were tilted as it was the top floor and it had a large window with a forest view.
A dresser, twin bed, bookcase, and a table. Everything he could want and need.
There was also another door.
"Don't get too excited," Michael noticed his gaze. "You don't have an en suite, that's actually a door to my room."
Luke raised his eyebrows.
"It's locked from your side," Michael explained. "We have other rooms but they need to be renovated. If you don't feel comfortable, I can move downstairs to the staff room."
