It was the heat. She wasn't sick. Nothing new, it was just so hot that her head was feeling a little more dizzy than usual, it was heading into summer after all in the glade. Sweat ran down the back of the Gladers, busying themselves with their day as she wiped her warm forehead from sun's rays.

Teresa kept those thoughts at the forefront of her mind when the migraine pierced her temples, causing her to clutch the sides of her head as she scrunched her eyes closed.

She briefly saw Thomas and Newt walking in her direction, finished with their daily dose of running in the maze before closing her eyes once again. Their usual lazy stroll stopping abruptly when Thomas caught a glimpse of flowing raven hair and saw Teresa holding her head in anguish and pain.

"Teresa?" He yelled concerned, as he ran to her,
Newt following behind him and saw her beautiful blue eyes fading. She looked up, her vision suddenly blurry as she stepped towards him with shaky breaths.
"Hey Tom." Then everything went black, the last thing she heard was Thomas's frantic cries as he caught her in his arms before she hit the ground.

Teresa woke up to the smell of antiseptic and scratchy sheets against her back, her small hand enclosed in something familiar. The sunlight from logs of the Med-Jacks hut hit her face as she immediately recognised her surroundings. Pulling herself up slowly, she instantly realised the feeling of Thomas's large hand holding hers as he quietly moved to help her sit up straight.

"Thank god." He whispered, burying his face into her soft raven hair as he pulled her close to his chest. She let herself relax into his arms, breathing in his familiar touch and soothing her mind when she felt his lips on the top of her head.

It was silence for a moment as she clutched her hands on his shirt and rested her head into crook of his neck.
"What's going on, Teresa?" He wrapped his arms around her small waist, gently lifting her chin with his fingers and his brown eyes stared into hers.

She trembled slightly and her blue eyes watered with unshed tears in confusion as she felt him stroke her hair.
"I don't know." She meekly whispered, her voice cracking for some unknown reason.
"I was doing good one minute then I felt a migraine, I wasn't even pushing my limits. Maybe I'm sick."

Thomas pushed a loose strand of her soft hair behind her ear before gently rocking them and whispering it was ok. Teresa smiled up at him and shyly kissed his cheek, causing him to smile and caress her rosy cheek. Her eyes grew sleepy and soon fell asleep in his warmth, feeling better already.

He looked down and saw the mesmerising sight of Teresa peacefully sleeping in his arms, her raven hair curled up against his forearms and her small body pressed against his.

Thomas sighed blissful, happy at this day's conclusion and watched her for a few minutes. Feeling tired himself after a long day of running and too comfortable to move, he leaned his head against hers and quickly fell asleep.

Unaware, hurried footsteps of someone of another blond glader halted near the door.
"Tommy, I bloody couldn't find the Med-Jack. Don't know whe—" Newt paused as he took in the sight of Thomas and Teresa asleep in each other's arms. He smirked at his oblivious lovestruck friends and chuckled, desperate to tell Minho as he quietly shut the door.
