The screams and growls of the crazed swarm of cranks ran towards them, their hurried footsteps echoed. She was desperately running, adrenaline rushing through her veins as her torch lit up the dim lighted halls.

Her friends panting alongside her, running around the escalators until Thomas stopped them. More cranks were charging towards them, causing them to scatter in different directions as panic spread.

"Go around! Hide somewhere till they're gone!" Thomas shouted, loudly as his brown eyes flicked around his surroundings. He noticed everyone separating, something he disliked but knew they had no choice till they were gone.

He kept sprinting in his direction, hearing the growls of cranks behind and frantically looked for somewhere to hide. His brown eyes landed on a closet and quickly shoved the clothes out, sealing himself inside. All he had to now was wait.

Teresa was sprinting for her life, breathing shaky as her blue eyes frantically searched for anyone near her. No one. She heard the crazed screams behind her, forcing her legs to run even faster and tried looking for somewhere to hide.

She turned another corner, causing her shoes to squeak across the floor. Her body trembled in fear as she glanced back and saw them catching up. She kept forcing herself to run straight, her blue eyes desperately looking for something, anything.

A firm hand suddenly grabbed her wrist, pulling her towards the closet as darkness entered her vision. She was pinned against the wood, her body trembling in fear as a familiar warmth was pressed against her. She quickly heard a soothing voice whisper in her ear.

"Don't scream. It's me, Teresa." The feeling of safety quickly washed over her as she recognised that familiar voice and saw brown eyes. Thomas.

The small light steeping through gap in the closet allowed her to see his face in the darkness and saw his brown eyes held a soft glimmer. The sounds of manic growls grew closer and louder near the closet, causing her to clutch his shirt and desperately clung to his chest. She felt safer with him.

Concern overcame Thomas's face when he noticed her fear and quickly wrapped his arms around her small waist, wanting to comfort her. He instantly felt her body trembling against his and gently ran his fingers through her soft raven hair, watching the strands slip through his fingers.

She silently buried her face in his chest, loving his warmth and felt herself relax in his presence.

"You ok, Teresa?" He whispered in a barely audible voice but it was laced with a gentle caring tone. She meekly nodded, still pressed against him as she stared up at him. He stared back at her, mesmerised by her beautiful blue eyes.

A sudden thud of movement banged loudly against the closet, causing their heads to turn towards the noise outside. She whimpered in fear, breathing shaky as she buried her face back into his chest. Those sounds were reminding her of a past memory she hated and would rather stay forgotten.

His hold on her waist protectively tightened, keeping her pressed against his chest as she felt him lightly stroke her hair.

"It's ok. I'm not going let anything happen to you, Teresa." He whispered, softly as he lifted her chin with his fingers. Their eyes locked, burning with a unknown connection as they stared at one another. He tucked a loose strand of her soft raven hair behind her ear before caressing her cheek.

"Thank you for sharing your hiding spot, Tom." She whispered back, quietly as she leaned into his calming touch. Teresa slowly pressed a soft kiss on his cheek, making Thomas smile. She noticed the sounds of screams and growls grew fainter in the distance until it was silent again.

"We should find the others now." Teresa muttered, softly as she smiled at him and shifted out of his strong arms.
Thomas already missed her warmth, finding it very comfortable with her in his arms. He quickly nodded in agreement and entwined their hands, keeping her close and safe with him.

He felt her squeeze his hand, still smiling at him with her angelic smile as they went to find their friends. Together.
