Set in the Maze Runner au
———-
Distant mumbling of the gladers could be heard, the trees swaying in the wind as leaves sprinkled onto the ground. She was laying in his hammock, her raven hair spilling against the edges as it swung lightly in the breeze. It felt strangely soothing in his presence, something she missed when he was running in the maze with Minho.

Her eyes were closed in bliss, feeling more relaxed here without all the gladers staring at her for being a girl and waited for him to return. Hopefully he stayed safe. She quickly heard footsteps approaching her, causing her to open her blue eyes and stare back into Newt's amused face.

"Teresa, what are you doing?" Newt spoke, intrigued as he stared at her laying in Thomas's hammock. He noticed her absently wandering the glade until he lost sight of her and now found her here.

"Relaxing...." She responded, quietly as her cheeks flushed red at being caught in his hammock.
"Why Tommy's hammock?" Newt snickered, noticing her red flushed cheeks. He knew the attraction between the two, most gladers did and honestly he found it amusing.

"It's comfy...." Teresa whispered, softly as she shyly avoided his gaze.
"Mine is comfy too. You can lay on mine." Newt responded, a smirk on his face as he knew that wasn't the real reason.
"Ok....I miss him...." She muttered, softly as she told him the truth. She felt a unknown connection with Thomas, drawn to him.

"Thats why you're here." Newt snickered, grinning as he saw her avoiding his gaze. She meekly nodded, making Newt laugh at her red face.
"Alright. I'll see you later." Newt spoke with a slight laugh as he bid farewell to Teresa and walked away.

Silence filled the air again as she snuggled back into his hammock, her eyes closed in bliss and let the wind swing the hammock side to side. She suddenly heard approaching footsteps heading in her direction again, making her feel annoyed at Newt and his teasing.

"Newt, just leave me alone." She spoke, slightly irritated as she heard the footsteps stop in front of the hammock.

She quickly heard a familiar voice whisper in her ear. "Teresa...."
His presence startled her, so much that her foot hit the hammock as she sat up. The hammock tipped slightly to the side, her balance unsteady as she felt herself falling.

Strong muscular arms instantly wrapped around her small waist, steadying her and pressed her against a familiar warmth. She flung her arms around his neck, frightened of falling as she frantically clung to him. She stared back into brown eyes, their faces close and realised he caught her before she fell.

He silently stared at her, his knee in the hammock as he drowned in her beautiful blue eyes.
"Are you ok, Teresa?" Thomas whispered, softly as he protectively tightened his hold on her waist. He felt heat rise onto his cheeks as he remembered Newt telling him she was here, missing him when he finished his run with Minho. She nodded, feeling herself lost in his brown eyes.

"You can let go of me now, Tom...." She whispered back, quietly as she felt herself being brought closer to him.
"What if I don't want to?" He muttered under his breath as he kept her pressed against his chest. Their faces were shifting closer and closer, their lips just a few inches apart.

"I....you...." She paused, shakily apparently not quite sure what she was going to say next. She was finding it hard to talk when he was staring at her pink lips like that.

"I heard you were missing me, Teresa...." He murmured as their noses gently touched. He rubbed her soft pink lip with his thumb as he stared at her with darkened brown eyes and saw her shiver in his arms.

Thomas felt like he knew this beautiful girl, he was drawn to her and strangely wanted to keep her safe. Intense electricity filled the air, their foreheads pressing together as they stared at each other's lips longingly.

A loud cough suddenly broke their focus, turning their heads towards a smirking Newt. He snickered at their red faces and watched them slowly separate as he grinned at Thomas's annoyed expression. It was fun teasing them.
