Set after the Death Cure au
———
"Come back, Tom. Come back to me...." She whispered under her breath as her blue eyes glistened with tears at the sight of him. Her fingers softly trailed his rough cheeks, wanting to see his brown eyes again.

The unconscious boy moved his face closer to her soft hand, seeking shelter in her touch. Her empty blue eyes stared at him longingly, hoping he would wake up soon as she moved closer to him. At times like this, she felt complete but only when she sat at Thomas's bed.

The girls guarding Teresa averted their gaze, noticing the expression on her face was filled with such love and adoration that it felt a intrusion to interrupt her private moment with Thomas.

Even though after entering Paradise, everyone banished her and acted cold towards her, they could still tell the undeniable bond between Thomas and Teresa.

Teresa softly laced her fingers with his, loving his warmth as she pushed a strand of his brown hair from his forehead. These small moments with him gave her a reason to live, to see his smile and hear his laugh just like before.

"Times up." Harriet spoke, coldly as she walked into the Med-Jacks hut. She glanced at Teresa, like there was nothing significant there and it was just another duty she had to do. Teresa meekly nodded, finding it hard to let go of Thomas's hand and bid farewell to him for today.

She silently followed behind Harriet, knowing she was being escorted back to her fenced off home as she briefly heard the other girls following behind her. Ever since she jumped onto the berg with Thomas, she knew she wouldn't be welcomed in paradise.

Harriet locked the gate to the isolated area as she walked away without glancing back at her, leaving one guard nearby. Teresa silently curled up into the ragged blanket they left her, feeling emptiness spread through her chest as she leaned against the wall.

She glanced at the scraps of food and water they gave her earlier, knowing she would eat them later. They barely gave her any food on some days. Her makeshift home was made out of wooden poles and ragged blankets as she shivered at the cold wind.

It was only because Thomas softly mumbled Teresa's name over and over again in his sleep that she was sometimes allowed to visit him.
A leaked tear escaped her empty blue eyes, deeply missing him.

The glow of a camp fire could be seen in the distance, shadows casting over her ragged blankets as she pulled the blanket over her shivering shoulders.
"Please....come back, Tom...." She whispered, shakily as she curled up on the ground.

Her blue eyes were empty and slightly red, finished from shedding all her tears as she stared blankly at the distant camp fire. She couldn't live without him.

A groan could be heard in the Med-Jacks hut, the light from the end of the tunnel slamming into him as his tired brown eyes opened. Flashes of the fire wreckage, escaping from WICKED and beautiful blue eyes swirled in his mind.

Exhaustion spread through his body, glancing at his surroundings as he instinctively searched for her. He remembered passing out, desperately hoping she followed him onto the berg. He briefly saw a guard excitedly run outside to inform the others.

The memory of their passionate kiss flashed in his head, causing him to silently touch his lips as he stared ahead in longing. His heart unknowingly starting pounding faster and faster at the thought of her.

The sudden sound of approaching footsteps snapped him out of his dreamlike trance, turning his head towards the door.
"Finally awake, shank? Thought you'll sleep until I grow old." Minho spoke, happily as he leaned against the wall.

"Shut up, Minho." Thomas responded with a slight laugh as he slowly sat up on the bed. His body ached, feeling the stitches from the bullet wound.
"What he is saying is that we're glad your ok." Brenda spoke, rolling her eyes at Minho as a small smile grew on her face.

"I'm feeling better." Thomas muttered, quietly as he nodded towards Brenda. He glanced at the door, noticing everyone behind her except the very person he wanted to see.

"Something wrong, Thomas?" Minho asked, calmly as he noticed Thomas staring at the door. He stepped forward, ignoring his gut instinct telling him that this was about a certain dark haired girl.

"Where's Teresa?" Thomas whispered, softly as he stared at Minho. He instantly noticed Minho's tense shoulders, making him wonder where she was. He glanced at everyone else, spotting the coldness entering their eyes and some looking away in shame.

"Are you sure you want to see her?" Brenda spoke, quietly as she patted Minho's shoulder in reassurance. Her teeth gritted, watching his expression soften at the mention of Teresa as he nodded determinedly.

"Bring her to me." Thomas muttered, firmly as his heart raced at the thought of seeing her again. His brown eyes held a stubborn glimmer, wanting to drown himself in her beautiful blue eyes. Only then, he would feel complete.
