"Teresa...." He muttered in a barely audible voice as he numbly watched her collapse against a counter. Her hands were tightly pressed against her stomach, blood staining her shirt and fingers as she whimpered in pain.

"Teresa!" Thomas shouted, a unearthly sound that somehow rouse above everything else as he ran towards her. The building rumbled, sounds of the destruction outside could be heard in the distance.

He desperately searched the cabinet next to him, finding a antiseptic cloth as fear spread through his chest. It was foolish for him to think he saved her from getting shot by Janson, knowing the vile man wanted him.

"Come on. You'll be fine...." He muttered in a broken voice as he quickly pressed the cloth against her stomach. Waves of guilt slammed into him, hating himself as he unknowingly moved closer to her. She saved him.

"Leave me, Tom. You need to go...." She whispered, trying to find the strength to talk as she stared at him. Her breathing was becoming shallow, watching him press the cloth against her bullet wound in a futile effort to stop the blood but it did no good.

"No. I'm not leaving you...." Thomas responded, firmly as he stared back at her. His brown eyes held a stubborn glimmer, breathing in shakily as he gently pushed a loose strand of her dark raven hair behind her ear.

"They are all waiting for you, Tom...." Teresa whispered, her voice hoarse and fading as her blue eyes glistened with tears. She desperately tried and failed to hold her tears back, causing some to stream down her cheeks.

"Don't say that...." He muttered in a broken voice, tears filling his brown eyes as he stared at the girl he misunderstood. The girl who meant everything to him.
"Just hold me. It's my last wish...." She whispered under her breath as she desperately tried to move closer to him.

He didn't reply, breathing in shakily before he gathered her into his strong arms. His blood ran cold as he saw the look of acceptance on her face, smiling her angelic smile at him. She knew this was the end.

Her hand tightly clutched his shirt, burying her face into his chest as she breathed in his presence in bliss. She wanted her last memory left of this world to be him and nothing else.

"Don't go...." He begged her, tears streaming down his cheeks as he tightly wrapped his arms around her small waist. He couldn't lose her too. "Don't leave me, Teresa...."

"I only ever cared for you...." She whispered as she caressed his cheek with bloody fingers, a sad remorseful smile on her face as she stared up at him. Her pulse dimmed under his fingers and the light in her beautiful blue eyes was fading.
"Thank you for loving me, Tom...."

Thomas suddenly froze, watching her weakly lean into him as her soft pink lips briefly touched his before her body went limp in his arms. Silence filled the air, the only sound of his shaky breathing could be heard as he tightened his hold on her small waist.

"No....no....Teresa....come back...." He murmured in a broken voice as he bought her closer to him and nuzzled her neck. Tears ran down his face, emptiness spreading through his chest as he softly cradled her lifeless body against his chest.
"I'm sorry...."

Her hand was still in the position of clutching his shirt, close to his heart yet he couldn't feel her pulse anymore. The taste of her pink lips lingered on his aching lips, she was gone.

It was silence for a while, sounds of the building rumbling could be heard in the distance as his face remained buried in her dark raven hair. Strangled sobs escaped his mouth, feeling empty without her.

"Thomas! Come out, you lab rat." Janson mocked, a smirk on his face as he broke the silence. His footsteps echoed in the WICKED hallways, approaching closer in his direction.

Thomas slowly lifted his head from her neck, his brown eyes darkened in anger and hatred as he breathed in deeply. His jaw clenched, ready for Janson as new adrenaline rushed through his veins. He wouldn't let her down.
