Set in the Scorch Trials au
———-
The seating hall was buzzing with low mumbling of the all boys and girls of the mazes as he slowly glanced at Janson and narrowed his brown eyes. It's been a few days since he last saw her, Teresa. Those beautiful blue eyes that calm and soothe his very being. He missed her so much.

His mind swirled with lots of horrible possibilities where she could be as doubts had sprouted since Aris showed him suspicious activity the other night. He didn't trust the people here. Teresa could be in danger, something that made his blood boil in anger just thinking about someone trying to harm her.

"Let's just keep our heads down and not draw any attention to ourselves." Newt spoke, calmly as he noticed the concern look on Thomas's face. He knew Thomas was worried about Teresa, knowing the deep connection between the two. Everyone could see Thomas was quite protective of Teresa.

A loud slam on the table suddenly echoed, his hands lifting him out of his seat as Thomas determinedly walked up to the guards. He had to see if she was ok.

"Woah. You weren't called." The guard spoke, loudly as he pushed the boy back.
"I know. I just need to see my friend." He responded, firmly as he stared at the guard.
"Get your ass back on that chair." The guard spoke again, irritated as he crossed his arms across his chest.

He gritted his teeth, frustrated as his jaw clenched and turned to walk away. The image of the blue eyed beauty flashed in his mind, making him more determined to see her again. Adrenaline rushed through his veins as he quickly turned around and tried to run through the guards, only to be shoved backwards.

"What's your problem? What the hell?" Thomas shouted, angrily as he shoved the guard back.
"Back off!" The guard yelled, angrily as he pushed the boy back harder.
"Why won't you let me see her!" He shouted angrily as he felt his friends trying to hold him back.

"What's happening here?" Janson yelled, loudly as he saw the fight and glanced at the guard then at Thomas. This boy would become a thorn as he heard Thomas was looking for the girl, something he couldn't allow.

"Thomas, calm down. You know we are on the same team here." Janson spoke, calmly as he painted over his dark motives.
"Tell me where she is, Janson." Thomas responded, firmly as he stared at Janson.
"That's none of your business." Janson answered, a smirk on his face as he gestured for them to sit in their seats.

"Tell me where she is." He threatened, coldly as his brown eyes darkened. He would find her. Janson didn't reply, just continued smirking and walked away as the guards stood against the metal doors.

They were back in the dorm room, filled with bunk beds as they stared at Thomas pacing.
"What were you thinking?" Newt yelled, annoyed as he placed his hand on his shoulder.

"She's missing, Newt. I know they're doing something to her. We have to find her." Thomas responded, a serious expression on his face as his jaw clenched.
"How do you know?" Minho spoke, curiously as he stared at Thomas.

A vent door quickly crashed against the ground, causing their heads to turn towards the noise and saw a unknown boy.
"That's how I know." Thomas answered, quietly as he crouched in front of his new friend. Aris.
"Let's leave now. We can find your friend easily at this time." Aris whispered as he gestured them to follow him and turned to crawl back through the vent.

"You sure we can trust this boy?" Minho spoke, intrigued as he stared at the vent.
"You don't want to know where we would be without him." Thomas muttered under his breath as he remembered the draining of immune kids and crawled through the vent. He briefly felt his friends following behind him.

They all jump out of the vent, nervously looking at their surroundings as they ran to a hallway. A female doctor quickly bumped into them, causing them to freeze as they stare at the doctor.

"What are you kids doing out?" The doctor spoke, confused as she saw them glance at each other then back at her. The sounds of blaring sirens filled the air, flashing lights as the boys determinedly looked at her.

She stepped backwards in fear, feeling hands quickly grab her arms as they stopped her from escaping.
"Where are you keeping Teresa?" Thomas spoke, firmly as he stared at the doctor.
"Subject A1? I can't tell you that." The doctor responded as she tried and failed to get free.
"Don't call her that." Thomas muttered as he glared coldly at the doctor.

"You don't have any bloody choice." Newt spoke, quietly as he tightened his grip on her arm and pushed her forward. The blaring sirens continued to fill the silence as they quickly followed the doctor.
"Over there!" A WICKED guard shouted as he spotted them and ran in their direction.

Minho instantly charged towards the guard, noticing the large shotgun as he rammed the guard into the wall and knocked him out.

Thomas breathed in deeply as he picked up the large shotgun and shoved it in the doctor's face.
"Come on! Go!" He spoke, firmly as he tightly held the shotgun and pushed her forward. He had no time for this, he had to find Teresa. The doctor soon stopped at a metal door, hesitantly entering as her attackers forced her inside.

"Where is she! Where is she!" He shouted, angrily as he tightened the grip on the shotgun and aimed it towards the other frightened doctors. They retreated further, cowering in fear as their eyes slowly flickered towards the curtain. His head snapped towards the curtain, his pulse racing as he quickly handed the shotgun to Minho.

Thomas yanked the curtain, revealing the girl he's been worrying about as she innocently lay asleep on the bed. He breathed in shakily, his heart feeling lighter at the sight of her as he stepped towards her. She was still so beautiful, her dark raven hair spilling against the bedsheets and soft pink lips brushing the side of her arm.

He gently tucked a loose strand of her soft raven hair behind her ear, happy she was safe as he caressed her cheek.

"Thomas...." Teresa muttered, softly as her tired blue eyes opened and leaned into his soothing touch. She nervously took in her surroundings, noticing her friends were tying up the scared doctors as she glanced back at Thomas. His brown eyes held a soft glimmer, continuing to caress her cheek as he softly smiled at her.

"What's happening, Tom?" She whispered, quietly as she saw his brown eyes darkened at the sound of loud footsteps approaching the room.

"We need to leave now, Teresa." He muttered, firmly as he gently helped her out of the bed. He saw Newt frantically barricade the door with a metal table as Minho held the shotgun in the direction of the door, the gladers moving back in panic.

Teresa instinctively ran behind Thomas, feeling safer with him as she trembled in fear. She didn't understand what was happening as she clutched the back of his shirt, hearing the loud thuds against the door.

Thomas desperately looked around the room as he protectively kept her close to him, trying to find a way out. The barricade scraped across the floor, failing to hold the WICKED guards back as they tried to enter.

He quickly spotted the stool, picking it up and smashed against the glass as broken glass pieces sprinkled onto the ground.
"Go!" He shouted, loudly as he watched his friends jump over and spotted Teresa place a bedsheet on the ledge. He gently scooped her up into his arms, not wanting her to get hurt and placed her feet back on the ground.

She softly smiled at him as she watched Minho throw the shotgun to Thomas, all of them running out of the metal door to freedom. When they reached the scorch, she turned towards Thomas as the other gladers were resting under the shade.

"Thank you for not leaving me...." She whispered, softly as she felt herself becoming lost in his brown eyes.
"Never...." He muttered under his breath as he stared at her.

He grabbed some strands of her soft raven hair, twirling it in his fingers before he softly kissed it and looked at her. Her cheeks flushed red at his actions, noticing he still held her hair as their eyes locked. They were always drawn to each other.
